Popular Post N e r V
So these next two were books that got an upgrade from raw in the Fantast collection. I have a few of these raw in high grade but I was really happy to get this grade on this one in particular. I have a friend in her early 20’s that reminds me of the girl on this cover so it holds special significance for that. Purchased raw as a 8.5 OW pages. Girls Romances #131. Tony Abruzzo cover. PovertyRow, Mmehdy, Dr. Love and 2 others
Popular Post N e r V
Next up book 5 from the collection. Purchased as a raw 9.2 OW/W. Falling in Love #103. Ric Estrada cover. Ricksneatstuff, adamstrange, PovertyRow and 4 others

Lovely Well it’s downhill from here because the next 2 I post were the “under performers”. Fortunately for me I’m not a flipper or investor per se in comics so all of these are for my personal enjoyment grades be damned. N e r V
Ok so next two are the misses from Fantast. To be fair given that I bought 14 Fantast romance books plus another 30-40 books at the time of other material I did not put them under a microscope at the con still… bought as a raw 9.2 W CGC gave it a 8.0 OW/W. Secret Hearts #125. Ricksneatstuff, jimjum12, comicjack and 1 other
N e r V
And finally actually the biggest drop I’ve ever gotten on any book from CGC purchased as a 9.0 OW/W CGC gave it a 6.5 OW. Graders notes say crease left bottom of back cover, spine stress lines breaks color, light stain bottom of front cover. Girls romances #130. Nice Tony Abruzzo cover. N e r V
I have 7 more to submit from Fantast. Curious to see what they bring. My experience with Harley is mixed with grades. I’d say 50% on point, 30% graded above, 20% graded under with him. As long as I stay ahead overall I can live with some misses from dealers. jimjum12
Dick Pontoon
Even if Harley can be off, on those last two it looks like CGC was too harsh. Bumble Kitty, N e r V and jimjum12 1

Girls romances #130. That's precisely the kind of slabbed comic that's a collector's dream! A low number bringing down the price for "defects" that don't much impact a comic's eye appeal. For one thing his women were just too round for my liking. My favourite DC Romance cover artist may well be Jay Scott Pike: (The above not mine.) How do you know that the dealers are wrong and CGC is right? And do you not have your own eyes and judgement? What do you think of the condition of those comics? And isn't that all that matters? Anybody else's grades be damned! But why then do you keep sending books to CGC at great personal expense to get their opinion? And why all these posts focusing on grades and grading? Why don't you comment on the actual comics themselves? What do you like about the stories, artwork, etc? Edited April 26 by Hepcat
