AF 15 9.0 sale

Hate to say this, but comparing that cover to a copy that is trimmed...there's less artwork on it, particularly on the right edge...

You could stack a dozen copies on top of each other and they'd all be different sizes. Comics are not minted coins and there is no way you can tell whether a comic is trimmd OR accurately graded from a small, 2D scan.

As long as it stays in the 9.0 slab, it will never be trimmed or an 8.5 . I think it is a very appealing copy. Old labels in general seem to be strong. Collectors are now starting to appreciate originality. Congrats to the buyer.

The old labels in general were graded tighter but not in all cases.

I think the old labels have been strong lately because of the originality, not necessarily because of potential. Collectors want copies that have not been manipulated for their collections.

+1. Not every person buying an old label is doing so for a regrade/CP-upgrade.

At the same time, I also don't think old labels were consistently graded tighter than newer submissions. The 090-097 serial numbers were new label books and are as tightly graded as any CGC'd books out there, in my experience.

Roy's right. And I've studied this book more than any book on the market for decades. I'd bet the bank it has NOT been trimmed. The right cover edge and pages edges match up perfectly. Note the ultra clean grays and white streaks. No smudging on the mid right edge where thumbing the books normally occurs.

Looks all of a 9.0 to me. I'd love to own it. :golfclap:

Did anyone notice how long was the book up before it sold? And did it sell at the asking price or was an offer accepted?
it was a posted sale...it wasnt available to purchase

Does clink still take 10% for that service?

As far as I know Comiclink takes 10% across the board for every sale that happens through their site.
