Well here is an odd one for sure. Found all 4 of these copies in one spot. 
But, here is the odd thing 2 of them have Not for Resale on them. Anybody
ever see that before? 

How will that affect the value of those? Should I downgrade them and if so
how much grade wise? I didn't pay alot for them, but I am confused how to
grade the Not for Resale books.

Weird.  Is it stamped on?  What's even more weird is that stamps are in different places but looks like the angle is the same on both.  Yeah - I'd say it's safe to downgrade them but it's a pretty interesting defect...never seen that before.

Someday, I'm gonna be cool like the (at least) half dozen people on these boards that have pulled Promethea 32 from a dollar bin. As long as I keep telling myself that... Someday...

It's stamped lightly in red across the book. From his chin to his right arm. I personally wouldn't mess with them. They look pretty thrashed to add to the lack of appeal on top of the stamp.

I knew about the red stamp. I was just alluding to the idea that they may not be all that difficult to find. I can't remember where I picked that one up.

These are "Complimentary Copies" 

Sometimes you will see that stamped or " Not For Resale " stamped on them. 

Not really sure about how they grade these.  I know there have been times where star stamps and date code stamps have been applied but didn't see a downgrade.

I was thinking this is a regional thing as Wer138 lives somewhat close to me.
Ive been collecting 30+ years now and I have never seen a copy. I just thought it
might have been a return from a grocery store/drug store.

Now from what I am reading they were more advanced copies sent as previews?
Or given to employees or artists. I am not sure which yet I will do more research.
Some indications that the Sparta plant gave them out to employees as well.

I am going to have to ask advice at my show in a 2 weeks where I have an Overstreet Grader present for advice. 
All 4 are pretty nice copies I will get some more feedback from them. Without the stamps they are from my first glance
8.5 to 9.4 copies.

I thought I posted this earlier but those are advance copies - I had the same stamp on some thor 337s
