Let's see those 19's!

Here is mine. My first copy was a 3.0 I purchased raw and had slabbed, but when Rick sold this one on the boards I couldn't resist.

 

I've always felt that 19 is very similar to 13.  Different monster, etc. but it's basically a mirror image of 13 in terms of design.

Heritage for sure tweaks and Metropolis/Comicconnect tweaks even more... I would be surprised if Comiclink didnt (just to keep up with the competition)

Things have changed, I'm sure, but Heritage tweaks used to be fairly severe at times. I've also see boardie tweaks that have made me cringe.

Structurally near perfect but the front cover stain about the planet was pretty severe.

I sold Cheetah (Jeff) his copy. I decided sometime after I really wanted another 19. When Jeff sold his run I did not bid on it at auction. It came up again about 2 years later. Another bidder and I kept going back and forth in I think $200 increments for over $2000 until I gave in. I only had X to spend and the next bid would have gone over X. I lost the book. Since that auction, I don’t think I came across another 19 for sale until the Mile High came available years later.  I was fortunate enough to have more resources at this time to go for this book. I was very determined to win it, honestly one of the only books I have ever been “all in” on. One of my favorite books for all the reasons above and quite a few more not listed

This has to be one of the best of the Church books.  Just fantastic.

That 19 is sick.  Congrats.  I was lucky to hold the Church 18 at Wizard Chicago in 2019.  Later sold at auction for much less than the first time.  But still beautiful.  Not sure who ended up with it.

My 19.  Has some interesting stamps on it, never could figure out what they were.  This cover always makes me think of the Mirkwood spiders scene in The Hobbit and I find the idea frankly terrifying, so I have never quite liked this cover as much as I probably should.  

Thought I'd include the great back cover with a nice Senorita Rio image.  I'm not sure where you'd rank the Planet or Fiction House characters (perhaps we should?) on a ranking, but she has to be pretty darn high on it.  And what a story description!
