That's always a fun book. I know we've already talked about this numerous times in the thread, but I'll reiterate that there is no way that Tormented is as scarce as TTTTT made it out to be. :gossip:

Perhaps not, but it's still a nice pre-code to have. (thumbs u

I love the small Venus logo at the begining of the stories with her standing on...Saturn! doh!lol And even though the pic is a bit blurry, that Martian looks wonderful! :applause:

It's Everetts first issue in the run...not quite as "over the top" as some of the following issues....it's interesting the impact that EC must have had on artists in the rest of the field.GOD BLESS...

I think it more likely for Everett to be influenced by Wolverton rather than EC. He was doing more intense horror-influenced work previously (e.g. "Doom in the Desert" from Namora #2).

I recall posting Menace 1 before but don't seem to have the scan lying around anywhere. These will have to do for now.

Now that you mention it, a lot of his male faces did take on a very Wolverton-esque quality in the early 50s. Great eye!

The first time I saw the splash of "Cartoonist's Calamity" in Venus 17 I thought it was done by Wolverton. Everett and Wolverton both worked for Centaur so the influence would have been prior to the start of horror comics.
