WoW! This whacked cover could be the proof that the Superior "maple leaf" isn't a maple leaf at all..... screwy.gif

Mysteries (Weird And Strange) has got to be THE pre-code horror title with the most amateurish, sloppy cover art (although Journey Into Fear sometimes comes close).

The shadows and/or token symbolic elements in this cover are so badly done, yet somehow it still has a certain feel. Probably drawn in about half an hour, though.

That Mysterious Adventures logo is really drab in white on purple background. It jumps out quite a bit better when yellow on red background.

Sooo... Andrews' ghost is in a skeleton form. Oh and it's alive. Ok, sure ...

MA #6, one of my fave MA issues, has a REALLY nice swamp story inside - well worth the read! Lou Cameron was the artist if memory serves...

Yes and it is by Cameron. Here's the splash -

And what a great splash that is! Love the snake eating the frog, nice touch! thumbsup2.gif

However, the writing and film community in general actually DO consider Frankenstein to be, first, science fiction.

Dunno how I missed Pov's post for a month blush.gif...but yes, he's right on this point. However, I'd add that the academic community has somewhat recently given Margaret Cavendish's 1666 The Blazing World the honor of being the "earliest sci-fi." Maybe not a sci-fi "novel," but it's in a novelistic prose style in any case...

Just being pedantic. tongue.gif
