wpbooks01
I found 6 of these nifty Heavy Metal Slipcase/boxes while cleaning out a closet. They are a little dusty but will shine once a damp cloth has given them the once over. Since I no longer have any HM's, I have little use for these cases, except as storage boxes for other mags, I suppose. If anybody who collects HM is interested in these and wants to make me an offer, I'm happy to entertain one or all. Looks like they hold about a year's worth. Skylath
Hopefully they'll do something for Julie Strain soon. Recently heard she's in the late stages of dementia, so maybe a tribute to her could be arranged or somethin'?
Popular Post Stevemmg
I don’t know if anyone had noticed, but Chris Achilleos passed away last month. If the name isn’t familiar to you, certainly some of these images will be. jimjum12, OtherEric, This is Who We Are and 2 others 4

Stevemmg
It may very well be. Of course, it was also used as the movie poster and album cover. It has to be the most universally recognized by a long shot. Edited January 16, 2022 by Stevemmg jimjum12

GeneticNinja
Looks like I need to add some covers to my collection. I'm behind on Heavy Metal. Some of their recent covers are nice too.

I was just going to search for this thread and here you brought it to the top. Is it just me or is this title really starting to heat up. It seems like only a year or so ago, you could find multiple slabbed copies of #1 in 9.4, 9.6, 9.8 for sale on eBay. I just looked and there's a CGC 9.8 BIN for $1400 and that's it. And the prices people are asking for later issues raw is pretty impressive. Apparently, this sold for the BIN. I put low to mid grade copies of this issue in multiple packages as a free extra when I sold books to board members. Wow. Glad I bought these when I did! jimjum12
IIRC the issues from 2011 and 2012 have print runs of 19,000 .... no matter what, the material is in a league all it's own. Popular Post Hiro
Recently picked up this copy of the March 1977 National Lampoon. Decent condition for a good price. This issue has the Heavy Metal Magazine preview / sampler in it. A full month before the first issue of Heavy Metal was released in April 1977. Been a fan, reader and sometime collector of National Lampoon and Heavy Metal for years, but didn't know this existed. Here's a link to some info on the preview / sampler: http://theporporbooksblog.blogspot.com/2019/03/heavy-metal-preview-1977.html Edited June 1, 2022 by Hiro Morganmi, Jayman, OtherEric and 7 others
