If Columbia Comics would have made this comment, it would have been a strike and everyone would be calling it Thread poop and asking for his head

and here it is in case it gets poofed

You tend to grade pretty harshly in the VG to FN range, most of your VG look like (at least) VG+/VGF and some of your FN look like FVF. Of course you have to have the books in hand, but they look great. (thumbs u

Shhh. Don't tell everyone!

I’m just trying to be fair, as more accurate grading is always better for both parties.

To balance that, I must admit that a few books in the FVF/VF- range appear very slightly overgraded, but it is hard to tell from scans only.

Andy’s grading is spot on (safely a bit undergraded, like I tend to do), but everyone has its "weak spot" where he undergrades. Mine tends to be in the G+ to VG- range – they are all G/G+ to me… lol

You are wrong. It won't get poofed. They clearly know one another and are merely conversing about grading books. This is what used to happen all the time before the selling threads became a freak show of kvetching, hand-wringing and teeth clenching. If you look for a ghost behind every tree, you'll find one.

:shy: closest thing I could find to a ghost behind a tree

to be fair, if I knew neither I would be hesitant to buy any books in this thread as someone already pointed out he's over grading.

to be fair #2 - i personally rely on my own grading despite what most folks put on along with their scans and these comments would not affect me nor would the others that have been posted

Apparently in 2013 it is. With all the button humping going on. It would almost be fitting if they did shut down the sales areas.

Make sure you get the knife in there good and deep button humpers, cut that goose that keeps laying the golden eggs and get them out even faster.

I'm surprised you can find time to do anything else other than police selling threads.

I'm not policing and I don't want to get into it with you. I have no issues with you and don't want any. I clicked on the sales threads because I like to see what is being sold not because of what rules are being broken. Like I said I could care less. I don't button hump and I agree with what you said. Too many people are policing.

I was just trying to make a point about how a comment made by one is different than a comment made by someone else. Apparently I was wrong as the comments were poofed.

I didn't do any button humping.

And you may be right, they could just be buddies chatting about grading. But it also says that some of the comics are over graded. Do we expect the mods to decide when that's just two friends talking and when it's threadcrapping?

What about reverse thread krapping? How many times can people post "GLWTS" or "nice books", with their only intention being to bump the sales thread and not actually buy anything?

I didn't accuse you of button humping. You generally don't have to guess with me. The pendulum is now swinging the other way. Instead of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons threadcrapping incessantly, we now have insufficiently_thoughtful_persons searching for threadcrapping incessantly. I feel like Charlton Heston on the Planet of the Apes.

I don't notify the mods very often, but ONLY because most of the stuff doesn't offend me, however...as to Hector's question about equality...I'm not sure the MODS see every post. There are a heck of a lot of posts here.

Someone posted a link to this thread a short time ago. I remembered Arch saying the notify moderator button was useful

http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6610054&fpart=4

We aren't in the 6th grade, notifying the mods if you think something is wrong should not equate to being a "tattle tale".

It's still their job to decide what to do once they are notified, so it's not like you personally sent someone to the chain gang for a week;)

Can someone explain why hitting "notify mod" is a bad thing?

Theres rules to the forum for a reason. If you get a strike its not because someone pressed "notify mod" its because you broke the forum rules and guidelines.

I've come around to this belief lately. (thumbs u

Instead of just :blahblah: about it - if I see something that I think IS threadkrapping, I'm just humping the button. It's the mods place to decide if something is threadkrapping or not - no one else's. No good comes out of constantly bi tching about this stuff I guess. Builds animosity between members. That being said, I'm just going to have to police myself I guess that I'm not overly humping the button.

You're always the epitome of sage wisdom. :foryou:

This is the thinking I've come around to. It's the mods job and no one else's.

Can the mods see who the person is humping a button? hm If so, I can imagine that if someone is constantly doing it, the mods will just start to disregard their button humping after awhile and treat them as an overly sensitive person.

Long enough to ship out a Goosebumps book.

HOLLA!

Regardless of threadcrapping, everybody is pointing to this about overgrading. Wasn't it about undergrading, and meant in a positive?

That's how I read it. (shrug)
