The book looks like it's suffering from amateur destruction not restoration. To bad as it was probably a decent mid grade book.

Also, is the seller saying that because he was burned on this book that that makes it OK to burn the buyer?

Ya he didn't know when he bought it from the seller on ebay a while back, so when he KNEW about it, still sold it, he closed his eyes, opened his hand and said pay me.

I haven't kept up with this situation since the guys sales thread was closed. I gather he turned out to be a scammer.

Some people might not like me in this forum but I guarantee I would never screw anyone like these guys.

I hope the buyer gets his money back no questions asked. And to the seller....your tactics are quite questionable.

He has posted about 10,000 words and said Avengers 57 about 100 times. Basically he said I don't know what restoration is and as such the buyer can suck it.

So he sold the book, doesn't have the money to refund and has now offered the book to someone for "free" if they will have it sent to CGC for grading?

That made my brain hurt.

Where did he say he doesn't have the money to refund? I saw the part where he says he doesn't have the money to submit it to CGC for a review, and offered someone to do it for him, but he never said he isn't refunding the buyer (he also never said he was refunding him/her either for that matter)

...that was my take on it as well. Greg's wordiness doesn't bother me as much..... it's just part of his personality (apparently)..... and it did give me something to read while I was downloading a Netflix movie on dial up internet. GOD BLESS...

This is as if Charlie Sheen went on a three day coke and porn binge and decided to sell comic books. This guy is truly #winning with Tiger Blood as appears to really be a papal assassin from Mars.

1st post:

But until the past year or so, I really wanted nothing to do with CGC-graded books. Why? Because they ruin the Fun aspect of comic books. With graded books, comics become fantastic investments and commodities not unlike a bar of Gold or a reliable Stock, but they aren't meant to be read, or held, or smelled anymore. They lose their inherent nature of being a "comic book."

2nd post:

My experience with slabbed, CGC-graded books is minimal; I'd love to have much more than I do, and if I could, I'd dive head-first into the waters of the comics grading world. Having a book graded and slabbed is rational, practical, and financially sound; it makes sense, and there's a very real 'Cool Factor' to it as well.

Andy's head hurts. :(

I pray he's not prepping another Gettysburg Address type rebutal. I can't make it through the first two, let alone being blinded by another big cap nightmare.

As the current seller, I completely accept responsibility for the item and for resolving the sale with the Buyer.

And because it would be possible for any one of us to sell, in good faith, a book that might potentially be restored, I fully support any and all discussion and education on this matter; talking about this subject in a public, open forum is good and necessary and relevant.

These are the key quotes from the second response. It doesn't seem unfair.

I agree, but the proof is in the pudding. Let's see if he makes it right.
