‘Justice League’ hits Digital HD later this month, according to iTunes

According to iTunes, Justice League will be available on Digital HD on Tuesday, January 30th. That’s just over two months after Justice League hit theaters last November. The movie struggled at the box office and was pushed out of most theaters last month, which is probably why it’s coming to home video much sooner than typical blockbusters.

I should note that the Justice League Blu-ray and Digital HD release haven’t been officially announced by Warner Bros. yet, so that January 30th date is subject to change. However, with iTunes being one of the top stores for digital content, I think it gives us a good idea of when we can expect to watch Justice League in the comfort of our own homes.

Any rumors of a Justice League 2?

hm

I think right now WB is dedicated to Aquaman, Shazam, Wonder Woman 2 and Flashpoint. Though with the new DC Universe Films President just selected, he'll probably need time to review their direction.

Maybe being a horror production success, he'll target Justice League Dark.

I saw JL on Saturday. I wanted to love it, but I didn't. I enjoyed it, at times quite a bit. 5/10 for me.

The major problem for me  was simple:  Batman.  In cosmic storylines (especially Darkseid related) the only way the Batman works is if he is a nearly perfect combo of the World's Greatest Detective and the World's Toughest Man. Otherwise, he is just a bag of flesh that would get liquified by the other players.  Seeing him fumble and flail about, not even being able to find Cyborg was sad and stupid.  He should have found them instantaneously, forced them to join, using intimidation, blackmail or whatever is necessary. They all hate but grudgingly admire Batman, giving them all a reason to band together to keep an eye on him, because he is so scarily ahead of them on everything.  Batman's intellectual superiority becomes the one thing that softens the edges of this dark world, the humor and the pathos can all be generated easily by having a genius-level detective/strategist Batman (it's how Morrison was able to have a thrilling Darkseid arc in his 1997 JLA run).

So it is not about Affleck's delivering a weak, ineffectual, bumbling Batman, it is about the ---script not providing the Batman this movie deserved.

:takeit: Hiyo!

Oh how I miss you all... I cannot stand this movie, but you (seanfingh) makes me miss you all and I will return with my collection!

Now down to 518 domestic theaters.

After the North American box office, here are the top five countries.

  • China: $106,052,345
  • Brazil: $39,635,441
  • Mexico: $24,800,000
  • United Kingdom: $23,636,672
  • Australia: $15,384,710

After seeing the numbers for this and Ragnarok, I have to say I never realized how large a market Brazil is for superhero movies. Now I can see why they did large launch events there.
