Even the scrap vehicles go for silly money and would be a labour of love restoring one back to life, have you heard the story about the stolen movie version it sounds like the plot from one of the Bond movies and featured on Brad Meltzer Lost history WOW?

Great article......WOW worth several million dollars if found !

James Bond is inextricably linked with British motoring, especially Aston Martin, but the spy with a license to kill is missing one of his most famous cars. The original DB5 packed with gadgets for the movie Goldfinger has been lost for the last 17 years with no leads as to its whereabouts.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the original release of Goldfinger – the third film that came out in the James Bond series. The movie was a smashing success in its day and forged the connection between the super spy and Aston Martin. After all, the car was every little boy's dream with machine guns in the front fenders, tire cutters in the wheels, an ejector seat and other amazing gadgets.

After it's life on the big screen, the original gadget car eventually ended up in Boca Raton, FL, at least until 1997. That's when a real-life Auric Goldfinger heisted the DB5, and it hasn't been seen since. A recent report from WPTV from West Palm Beach, FL, talked to people from the area familiar with the caper and its status today.

Assuming the car is still intact, Bond's Aston Martin would likely be worth several million dollars on the open market these days. For example, a DB5 that appeared in Goldfinger and Thunderball sold in 2010 at auction for $4.6 million. Check out the video for the full story on this long lost movie star.

Some rich guy/gal goes into his/her car bunker and looks at it once a month.  The slowly backs out, turns off the light, and seals the door with a big grin on his/her face.

Yes I still have wet dreams about playing in that car, by the way I don't have the missing DB5 I wish I did and as you say I would have a grin from ear to ear.:)

I'm going to take out an advert now: Experienced Aston Martin valet willing to work free if it's proved that you have an original DB5 apply P.O box 007-Fan1.

I had his hat badge attache case and shoulder holster at that time so I was dressed to kill alas I never got the movie camera that shot bullets but I did see it at the time and out of my price range and Christmas was over after all the other Bond toys.

I actually saw the movie "One Million Years BC" at the theater back as a young child (i do not remember being scared at it as i was at so many other movies)

amazingly i have never seen it again after all these years, don't ever recall it it being on tv at all , same as Fantastic Voyage,... saw it as a child at the theatre and never again....
