nearmint
For those who haven’t heard, John suffered a heart attack very early this morning and passed away. He will be sorely missed by the entire collecting community. nearmint
I always enjoyed talking to him in San Diego. He had a great memory, and I loved hearing his stories about past comic deals. Such a wealth of knowledge. thirdgreenham

thecollectron
Sorry to hear this. I first met him when he was wheeling and dealing back in the El Cortez era of San Diego Comic-Con. He was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. thirdgreenham and Senormac

sacentaur
His memory was infallible, his passion for the hobby was incredible, and he certainly had the gift for gab (in an entertaining way). I met John early in my collecting career, he always treated me well. Condolences to his friends and family, RIP John (1961-2018). Popular Post Comcav
Just a titan of a collector. Nothing more stunning than seeing his books at a show or hearing about the early days of collecting from him. I wish I had spent more time listening and looking. John put me into some lovely books for which I can now never thank him enough, and there will simply never be another collector like him. A legend has passed, far too soon. RockMyAmadeus
Very sad news. I could, and did, sit and listen to Jon talk about the Golden Age of Comics for hours. A giant has left us. Popular Post Cat-Man_America
Horrible news. Still in shock and trying to come to grips with the loss of my friend. Our marathon conversations on comics were always a delight. John was one of the pillars of our collecting community and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him. Rest in peace, bro. gino2paulus2, Timely, Badger and 5 others 7
