I think these two issues are far closer to the Giant-Size category than the first 10 issues, which were closer to annuals.  But obviously they're a bit of an outlier either way.  Still worth mentioning in this context in my opinion.

Seems CGC has mislabeled these. Though MCS also list them as annuals.

Strange that neither the covers nor the indicia ever states "annual", yet they're titled "annual" by CGC.

Similarly KS IHulk #1 (SA granted) is not titled "annual" on cover nor indicia either:

So where does CGC or others come up with the "official" title to put on the labels?

This really isn't complicated.  If you're CGC or Overstreet or anyone else tasked with cataloguing all published comics in a way that makes sense and preserves the logical order of their history, you try to keep things as simple as possible.  You see that year after year, Marvel put out a title called a few slightly different variations of Amazing Spider-Man Annual / Special, once per year, numbered sequentially ... it doesn't take a huge leap to realize these are all part of the same series of books and should be grouped together as a single title.

Going just by the covers, as I can't see the indicia, the books are labeled as follows:

• #1 - "72 Big Pages / Annual"
• #2 - "Special King Size Annual"
• #3 through #8 - "King-Size Special"
• #9 - "King-Size / Special Issue"
• #10 through #16 - "King-Size Annual"

A similar pattern can be traced across other titles such as Fantastic Four, Avengers, and so on.  It's certainly an interesting footnote to acknowledge the slight re-branding of Marvel's annuals over time across the line of titles, and even differences in the indicia.  But it would be highly confusing to collectors if CGC or Overstreet tried to treat those books as though they were from entirely separate titles.

This whole discussion started because someone asked if these books should be considered part of the set of Giant-Size books that Marvel put out in/around 1975.  They most definitely should not.
