I used to have a HG Four Color and western collection. Around 800 books. After that, I spent a decade collecting only Action Comics. I had about 85 slabs from #1 through #100. I never had any of the 4 mega keys, with the exception of the 1st wrap of Action #1 All were 4,0 or better with the exception of #3 and #12. They were all sold in 2013, and the money was used for a house. I do still have this, though. I actually remember when you sold them and my jaw dropped. I was late to the party but just by a few minutes. Luckily those books traded hands a few times and I had picked up the major one I wanted from a board member when he decided to move them along. When I went to visit Metropolis I had learned that the final buyer decided to consign the books to them and I won another two at auction. Today 25, 33 and 83 currently sit in my collection with no plans of leaving anytime soon. What is weird though is that when I flip through them in the CGC box, I automatically refer to them in my mind as Mike's (Comicdonna's) books. Wise move to change, I’m sure you miss the display though. How many books is this? sfcityduck
I once spent 15 years looking for one book. Does that count? I know of only one other guy in the U.S. who has one. Here's the story: That beat out the two years I spent trying to find this book, which I quickly passed on to the collector who wanted and needed it most: By comparison, my latest quest only took a couple of weeks. Which was shocking. I thought it would take a LOT longer. But still got me something I don't think anyone else has: Ken Aldred, comicdonna and NP_Gresham

NoMan
I accomplish my collecting goals (and life goals in general) and then I knock them over, like a sand castle and I start over again. Popular Post wombat
I would say I have only accomplished one collecting goal. That was to get a Frazetta SS. Lots of other goals in progress or too small to note. BladeTX, Larryw7, ADAMANTIUM and 4 others

I’ve come full circle!!!

Popular Post srezvan
I have a few goals: 1. Get a comic book room - I got one, filled it up, and now I want a bigger one 2. Get my kids to appreciate my collection and understand why I enjoy it so much - my 5-year-old daughter likes to look around my office and ask questions about the stuff in there. I thought she'd enjoy an old collectible card game (CCG) that I played in the 90s - OverPower. We built our decks and play with abbreviated rules. Below is a photo of her playing OverPower in my comic room while her little brother watches. She's 5, so we practice reading the cards and math for attacks and defenses as our favorite superheroes fight. She chose Black Widow, Captain America, and Iron Man. Her card protectors are a unicorn on a rainbow. 3. Complete a full run of the original (Uncanny) X-Men series comicdonna, kaculler, Larryw7 and 6 others

Popular Post MGsimba77
Initial goal was wolverine trilogy 9.8-9.6 was done awhile back after finally finding a 182 in WP which was elusive. Was looking for an ASM 55 9.8 for years before finding it in 2017. Just found #70 9.6 in which I was searching for several years. I thought I'd never find it in a good wrap + WP but the stars were aligned that day! Next is X-Men GSXM to #100, 6 out of the 8 in 9.8 other two in 9.6. I have 94 & 95 to go. Only a matter of time. I'll post my best group shot when it happens. Will be glorious! After that or possibly before I'd be interested to do a favorite artist first ASM trilogy. ASM 39 (Romita) ASM 89 (Kane) ASM 125 (Andru which is best one imo) in 9.6-9.8. Only one I have left is #39 which I hope to find in 9.6 at some point. Will post group shot. I love this hobby!!! The 89 is being reholdered... Edited May 5, 2019 by MGsimba77 djpinkpanther67, comicdonna, ADAMANTIUM and 4 others
