I don’t follow Planets generally other than the late run Whitmans… but these looked like strong to crazy prices no?

IMHO HG copies of numerous GA sci-fi/GGA/cool cover/great artist have been bargains for a long time. People are just catching on. I do like numerous SA books but just can’t see spending 10k on some b-lister first appearance with dozens of the same HG copy in the census, when that 10k would get you one or more HG GA GGA for which the entire issue has 10 in the census.

It's kind of hard to believe I started collecting Planet because it seemed like a cool Golden Age series that was quite affordable.  Boy has that ship sailed!

For those that are still working on runs, I wish you the best.  They're amazing books, but certainly not overlooked anymore.:x

I started because they were cool.  I bought my first one last June, and yeah, they've gone up a bit since then :)

that along with the AF15 result, some MAJOR congrats are in order !

Nearly everything has crushed it.  I'm happy with basically all the Timelys and Nedors.  And lots of weird obscure war covers like the Eagle 4 went crazy.  The Eagle 4 went for more than 3X the price I would have been happy with.

Wish I hadn't cheaped out on this book many, many times back in the early 2010s.  It's a warehouse find!  "Why is it so expensive?", I asked myself.  Oops.

Also, doesn't the Tomb of Terror #12 seem so cheap by comparison.  The dude is going to get a smiley face branded on him by a zombie!!!

A few more 'breakout' issues among them I think. #19 went for over 8k in CGC 7.5 for example. Interesting that the #71 in CGC 7.5 actually went for more than the #66 CGC 8.0 [highest graded]. From my point of view, it was nice to see the Rockford #49 in 9.0 break $3k - I've always loved that cover. #26 in CGC7.5 broke 3k, #22 in CGC 8.0 broke 4k, and the list goes on...

Oh hey what did that 71 end up going for? Oh I see it: $5300 for a 7.5 IS strong. I’ve always liked this cover too, but it never seemed to get much love back when boardies were asked to name their favorite covers

The biggest standout to me is the #35 in CGC 6.0 at 4k.  Someone clearly paid for the color strike on that one...which is cool to see.  Comparing some of these to the Church copy sales of a few years ago too and it looks like yesterday's overpays are now today's bargains.  Two example, this weeks number 11 in CGC 7.0 at $6,779....2018 the Church CGC 9.6 at $11,200.. #25 in 8.5 this week goes for $5,600...in 2018 Church 9.6 goes for $8,000 (don't recall the colors on these 2 church copies to be fair.)

Whereas #43 and #52 went very high when compared to other - and better covers.
