No I quoted the right post, at least I think I did if you are referring to the writers of the show and not that review.  The original plan for the show, according to reports, had to be scrapped after Filoni and others reviewed the scripts. If they had to rewrite everything with the same writers, chances are good they fixed what was wrong but only by half measures without understanding or knowing about the other movies and shows.

Not excusing anything. Filoni should have been on board from day 1, but he’s not officially the Feige of Star Wars…yet. 

I liked the show, but I think it could have been better in some areas.

I finally saw the last episode last night and it was great.  A bit sappy in parts but overall a great last episode of a good series!

No, he's dead, aside from his Force presence.

He's a wuss, not amazing like Riva who can survive a lightsaber to the chest twice in her life so far , unless the 1st attack was through the head, and she survived that. Hell, if you think about it, Vader's lightsaber could have been roughly 3x to 4x larger (like Anikin's would have seemed to a youngling Riva), and she still would have survived the 2nd attack inconvenience.

FTR, Riva and Ray could be men, and I'd still be just as irritated with their automatic amazingness. Riva needed more backstory in her introduction to help explain how she knows so much, and Ingram needs to learn more facial expressions. Ray's Force-abilities just kept manifesting as needed.

I know Kennedy and/or Disney erased The Expanded Universe from canon, and the treasure trove of material chronicling Han becoming one of the greatest heroes ever (NOT a deadbeat-dad), Luke becoming the Jedi Grandmaster (NOT a quitter after one significant setback) by earning it through trial and error (NOT because he 'awoke' one afternoon), and Han and Leia's older son becoming Darth Caedus, who believed his actions were truly necessary (NOT some whiney Kylo Ren full of butthurt), but as someone who stood in line 6+/- hours in 1977 to see what would become ANH and read those EU stories, THIS writing is too painfully inadequate for me to enjoy it.

I also hated The Holiday Special when it premiered even though they said it was Star Wars, and I was starving for anything SW at the time.

I know not everyone will approach the show from the same standpoint, so I hope I'm not coming across as, "no one should watch this, and if you do you shouldn't enjoy it." That isn't my intent.

One thing the on-screen stuff has't conveyed well is the way in which Palpatine leashed and demoralized Vader. The comics have done it very well, but I wish they would show the extent to which he has before they allude to it on screen like the finale did. It doesn't really click with viewers , and I don't fault them. 

It doesn’t fit with the Sith goal of eliminating all the Jedi either.  They know Obi is still out there and they know easy ways to draw him out.  It just makes no sense they’d let him off.

I have really enjoyed this series.  I thought it started rather slowly but has built up.  I am almost caught up.  It may have been mentioned earlier but I cannot believe Vader's voice is not James Earl Jones but some technology through Respeecher.  Amazing.  I need to pull out my Vader helmet with voice changer and get in the true spirit.
