When the actor stopped by EW's Comic-Con video suite on Friday, she admitted that while there are no scripts written yet, she already knows a big secret about season 3. "Right now I haven't read anything — I know who the big villain is, which is really exciting, but that's it," Tulloch said. "The writers just got back into the room I believe a week ago, and we don't start filming until September."

Superman and Lois season 3 is happening, so if you had any doubts about that put those out of your head. The show was renewed by The CW last March and will return to the network in 2023.

A more specific release window has yet to be announced, but the network has been putting its midseason schedule together this month, confirming when the currently-airing shows will return as well as the premiere date for The Flash‘s final season.

A potentially exciting update lies in new series The Winchesters‘ new timeslot. The show currently holds Superman and Lois‘ timeslot on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET. but when it returns next year, it will move to the 9:00 p.m. ET timeslot. While a Winchesters rerun holds the 8 pm slot on the date the show returns (January 24), what show could be moving into it going forward?

Gotham Knights and Superman & Lois Season 3 Premiere Dates Announced by The CW

Quote

Superman & Lois will debut its third season on March 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, followed by a 9 p.m. premiere for Gotham Knights. Superman & Lois will take over the Tuesday night slot that The Flash was in for most of its run, and which proved as one of the best lead-in times on the schedule to launch or support new shows.

The third season of Superman & Lois is likely to see the pair square off against Bruno Manheim and Intergang, a threat teased at the end of season 2 with a cameo appearance by John Diggle (David Ramsey). At the same time, a report broke this week suggesting that the show will feature an appearance by Lex Luthor.

The CW's sale to Nexstar Media Group led to concern that scripted shows like Superman & Lois could receive the ax, especially after the network's new president, Brad Schwartz, offered a non-committal response on the prospect of more DC content that will arrive.

As per a new report from Deadline, The CW is "not expected" to renew the bulk of its remaining scripted dramas despite giving a 13-episode Season 4 order to Jared Padalecki's Walker in the 2023-2024 broadcast season.

The CW's scripted dramas are produced at a higher price point than what the network is willing to pay moving forward. This would mean that the likes of Superman & Lois Season 4 and All American: Homecoming Season 3 could end up being canceled if the network is not willing to spend.
