Happiness

Augustine suggested it when he spoke about eternal life

"The true meaning of life (to be or not to be[Descartes]the eternal existential argument) is to be happy, and if happiness is your desire then you never want that happiness to end"

Buddha said desire is the root of all suffering.  If happiness is dependant upon the external then your happiness at the whim of fate.

If we abandoned hope we would cease to exist on an exponential level...people would stop pro creating...life would cease to exist

I'll elaborate....

Human beings procreate not only for survival, or physical pleasure, but also for the "hope" of a better life for generations to come...the hope for complete bliss, without suffering or pain, that's why you see such rapid advancements in technology and medicine, and eventually we will see a curve and the ultimate decline in Covid19...

10,000 yrs ago a disease like this could wipe out civilization as we know it

Therefore there is hope in humanity after all.

Hope is a desire that things be the way you want-if they are not, you suffer.  Desire is the root of suffering.

You have to will things to be the way you want and people should desire the best for themselves when it's not at the expense of others.

The universe was built to be good

How do you know that?

Are you an animal

Ask @THE_BEYONDER when his dog wakes him up on the morning wagging its tail that it doesn't have hope.

Buddha had no hope and he procreated just fine.
