Popular Post Frisco Larson
For the last few years, I've been picking up Mexican Publication copies of primarily Atlas and Marvel Silver Age comics. I've sought several genres in my search, including superhero, horror, jungle, etc. Rather than bombard an existing thread in what would certainly look like I'm taking it over, I've decided to start my own thread, showing my collection as it is and as it grows. That way, if you want to check these out, feel free …. if not, that's fine too. As you will see if you keep scrolling these pages, the large majority of these comics are published by La Prensa. There will be comics here published under different publisher names, but La Prensa is the publisher I've encountered most. I'm not in any way knowledgeable about these publishers, merely pointing out that there are at least a few that will have their comics posted here. I hope my fellow boardies enjoy checking these out and comparing them to their American counterparts. I will do my best to identify what specific American issue shares the same cover as the copy featured here. Comics are fun, so ….. have fun! Frisco Larson
I guess I'm going to just post them as I have them in hand, not really in any specific order. This copy shares the same cover as World of Fantasy #14. A cool Joe Maneely cover with a helpful date stamp. Frisco Larson
World of Fantasy #12 has the same cover as this one. Date stamp semi obscured when stamped, but still provides info. I'll include a back cover scan if I have one. Edited May 21, 2020 by Frisco Larson bc, Mr Thorpe, mec3437 and 1 other
Frisco Larson
I really like the color scheme on this one! Uncanny Tales #44 is the American equivalent to this issue. Frisco Larson
This shares the cover art with Tales of Suspense #6. This particular book is a bit of a horror story for me. It arrived with no bag or board and a fair amount of the top front cover chipped away and destroyed …. to the point that keeping the *dusty crumbs* that were once a part of the front cover was pointless. Someday I'll snap a pic of it now and backfill the pic onto this post. Still a bit too grumpy to do it now. This came from another part of the world, which I have found can be a dice roll. I've had several good experiences and a few bad. Oh well, at least I got SOMETHING ……. Popular Post Frisco Larson
Ok, this is the only anomaly (so far!) that I've encountered in my acquisitions of Mexican Edition funny books. The cover artwork is very "similar" to that of the American Edition Marvel Tales #156, but it's CLEARLY different, like a redrawn version of it for some reason. Mexican Edition signed by the GREAT Bill Everett, so I suppose it's possible that he had done two versions of an idea to see which he liked better. Speculation, of course, as I doubt there's any way to know. I actually prefer the Mexican Edition, as it has a Sub-Mariner feel to it in my opinion. Either way you see it, I'm happy to have a copy to share. I've posted an "acquired" scan of the American Marvel Tales for you to compare them. Everett was such a master artist!!! Super cool back cover again on this one! Edited May 21, 2020 by Frisco Larson zosocane, bc, ThothAmon and 4 others

Frisco Larson
This Bill Everett cover art reminds me SO much of the pre hero Marvel days! Journey Into Unknown Worlds #55 sports this same cover art (back cover is most certainly different though).
