walclark
My condolences. While I had limited interactions with him, I am thankful that I was about to sell him a pedigree comic book for his run. 1950's war comics
Popular Post gregreece
Like a lot of you, I "met" Bob through the boards. And then of course in person at Wizard World Chicago, and later the C2E2 show. Bob always bought a book (sometimes a few) from me at every show. Not almost always, ALWAYS! I am glad to make a sale to this day but in those early years, it was especially meaningful. I remember one year he said "Greg, I just don't see anything this time". And I told him "Don't worry about it, I'll have something for you next time". He came back and bought a nice JLA anyway. He really went out of his way to support the dealers that traveled to the show. I also remember Bob's great sense of humor, (and to Bob Storms, yes he always asked me about "my flow" too :). Just terribly sad to hear of his passing. The term class act probably gets tossed around too much, cheapening its meaning. But Bob was a class act in every way. Karl Liebl
I'm going to miss Bob. He took the time to teach me a lot about graded books. I did actually buy one of his books. I don't think he wanted to sell anything. He loved comics and collecting. He told me he had sold his collection one time and regretted it ever since, Be at peace my friend... wormboy, James J Johnson and badback83

We all knew how Bob felt about pressing early on, and we would have some emotionally charged conversations about it at shows. Bob would never let anything get to him as we had many of these conversations on how we each felt, but would break bread later on that day as if nothing had ever happened. Very sad day as we have lost another irreplaceable person/friend/collector and voice in the hobby. joeypost
IIRC, didn’t Bob help a friend who was also sick sell off his collection many years ago? I cannot remember the name of the collection, but it was a pretty big deal at the time.

steveinthecity
Very sad news indeed. I didn’t know Bob outside of the boards, but I will miss his contributions to comic book conversations here.. It’s meaningful to know that those of you who knew him over the years had such warm feelings towards him, and by all accounts was thought of highly. pickycollector
Very sorry to hear this sad news. I had several PM exchanges and a few transactions with Bob and he was a great guy. A big loss for this community. My most sincere condolences to his family. RIP Bob
telerites
Bob and I had an ongoing PM thread as I had asked about a book of his. As some know, I have dealt with some rough health issues and Bob shared what he was going through. He had a hard time reading long PMs and concentrating when we were conversing. Unfortunately, he dropped off as his health deteriorated. I wish I had got to know him better earlier other than through his boards. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. Popular Post Cliff R.
I didn't know Bob personally, but I had the opportunity to exchange messages with him. He deeply cared about this hobby, and was always willing to help a fellow collector. This issue will always remind me of Bob. My prayers go out to his family and friends. badback83, comicquant, Larryw7 and 6 others
