I searched the boards for awhile now for a topic along the lines of this and couldn't find one so I figured lets start one. If there was one started already, please point me in the correct direction.

I don't know about anybody else but I have a weird fascination with older and/or out of print graphic novels and trades. I'm talking 90s-70s (I know that's not that old, but for trades I feel like its on the old side). So I figured I would show some of mine off and hopefully some of you guys will share yours as well. Id love to see them. Seeing these trades brings back such a feeling of nostalgia, especially those ones from the late 80s early 90s, they bring back good memories of being in the book store and looking through the comics/graphic novels section when I was a kid, or of all the hard work I did to save up money to go buy the latest trade/ GN that I saw and wanted and hoping it would still be there.

I'll start with some of the earliest that i can remember buying that i still have.

This first one I bought at an antique fair, cant remember how much it was but i know it was cheap, probably a dollar or so.

Silver Surfer: The Ultimate Cosmic Experience by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, 1978

That GN is a great read for anyone hasnt read it-an alternate version of Galacticus first appearance on Earth.

Happy to have found another copy of this one, as I wish I had not let go of my last copy which was # 1 of 20, this one is # 11 of 20 . 20210325_193115.thumb.jpg.e3fee3d525c196a98cd6f77d78641a86.jpg20210325_193135.thumb.jpg.e97e73cd3aab8d7b3ef2c26ed835b8af.jpg

That's so awesome! I gotta admit, I'm a lil jealous.

Oh man, these essentials bring back so many childhood memories. These were how I read all the classic back issues to everything that I couldn't afford as a kid.

Hey! That's awesome. I've never seen another copy of this book. And yes, my cover is a repro (more like just a cover I printed off the internet). Its gotta be one of my favorites too. Such a cool mix of stuff from that era.

As a Bat-fan, I really enjoyed Morrison's run on Batman - I'm a huge fan of the Zur-en-Arrh treatment of the character. I also love a lot of the old Golden and Silver Age stories. So I've been on the lookout for a nice copy (all of the the marks and distressed nature of the cover are done on purpose in the printing - this is a really clean copy!) of this book at a decent price, and I finally found it!

I like the Zur-en-Arrh Batman so much I tracked this down a few months ago - still on the hunt for an affordable Batman 113 though:

Cool! I didn't realize that was already OOP and getting pricey. It's crazy, they print so many books these days, in such small runs, it's impossible to stay on top of everything, and gems like this sneak through and disappear before I even realize they were there at all!
