Maybe even some selloff of SA books to fund GA purchases These ultra grade timely's are once is a lifetime, the SA books, which might cost more to replace..CAN BE REPLACED...certain books in this collection cannot unless you own a time machine..you are trading up from SA to GA to obtain non-replaceable material...it is a no brainer..this collections is a game changer on so many levels... fast eddie and Gotham Kid

I think she did that with about 3 or 4 of them. Edited May 5, 2021 by Rip tth2, AJD, 10centcomics and 3 others 2

Still, always best to buy the book, as oppsed to buying the label like what a lot of the OCD FOMO driven buyers seem to do nowadays. Looks like they have the Miss Fury run up right now, and Miss Fury #2 has always been my favorite out of this short run due to its beautiful blend of colors: https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/miss-fury-2-the-promise-collection-pedigree-timely-1943-cgc-vf-85-white-pages/p/7244-175085.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Preview-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=93|0# Surprised that they haven't had a higher graded copy after all this time, since this Promise Copy here is the highest graded copy at CGC 8.5. Not sure what happened with that top staple area or the wear at the bottom of the spine, but I guess it is what it is, although I have certainly seen better presenting CGC 8.5 graded books from a strict visual point of view. That's always been a tough issue to find. However, I didn't realize that it only went that high until you mentioned it. I think I'll hug my 7.5. Yes, when I saw the Promise Copy of this Miss Fury #2, I decided to take a quick look at the census and was rarther shocked to see that the highest graded copies were only 2 in CGC 8.0 and 2 in CGC 7.5, including one of the latter ones being your copy then. Checked my Mile High Catalogue and surprisingly, it would appear that the Miss Fury run was not listed in there which means that it must have been one of the runs snapped up by Burrell Rowe as partial payment for loaning Chuckles the $2K to purchase the entire Church collection in the first place, or dare we say was actually absent from the Church collection to start with. If it was in there as part of the collection, I guess it must be held pretty tightly in the hands of a private collector because both the HA and CC archives don't indicate a single sale of a Church copy for any issues of Miss Fury. aardvark88

It’s such a cool collection, with such incredible books, and all I hear is a bunch of whining over a few books getting grades you all think are too high based on a cover scan. You can find examples of books where the scan doesn’t seem to align with the grade on non-pedigree books too. Amen. And I, for two. Is that because there's no need for whining when like the old saying goes............."a picture is worth a thousand words". By definition, it could only be one family. If that's the case, then I guess Burrell for some reason must have gone after only the Miss Fury run out of all of the Timely runs. Suprised he wouldn't have held onto any of the Cap's, Torch, Subby's, USA, etc. or the Marvel Mystery's after issue #11 then, since they (including all of the keys) are all listed in Chuck's Mile High Catalogue. If so, I guess the Miss Fury run must have remained intact after Burrell picked it up and stayed that way throughout until John Veryzl picked it up for his own collection then. Or is it possible that Church didn't really cared so much for the super heorines since it looks like his Moon Girl run only had a Fine copy of Moon Girl 7 as listed in Chuck's Mile High Catalogue? Writing on the cover degrades the original printing just as much as chips, tears, and tape, even when it is a "pedigree" collection. I will never understand why graders pretend this is not the case; but I will happily take books they grade 5.0 with no writing over books graded 9.0 with writing. One word: money! CGC doesnt hold it against a book, since that's the way it was produced (unless the variation is egregious) That's great to know. I'm going to prioritize collecting Fiction House 3.0s with no color degradation. Thank goodness for completely arbitrary grading standards!
