This created a whole lot of extra work for Mike (especially all the PMs leading up to Round 1) and prevented some (apparently) more committed folks from being "formal" contestants. I think this is definitely something CGC needs to examine going forward. Round # # Players 0 354 1 203 2 152 3 135 perhaps a rule to dissuade drop outs, such as those who drop out have to skip the following 1 or 2 contests? alternatively, reward people who finish the contest with automatic entry into the following contest? (put aside some spots for prior contestants and some spots for noobs) trying to offer practical solutions Fisionbomb

bayesian_acolyte
I feel pretty good about my score of 20 as someone who only started to learn how to grade ~4 months ago. A big thanks to everyone on this forum who has posted "grade is in" updates, as searching those and quizzing myself has been a lot of help. Also thanks to Mike for running the contest. ivegotneatstuff
Really just need to whip up some code and throw a subdomain up like contests.cgccomics.com and let it run itself.. no spreadsheets needed.

BladeTX
Wow! @Squirrel Guygoes wire to wire before the final round. Super impressive. I'm wondering if this contest was a ploy for CGC to recruit more graders 😂 Squirrel Guy
Administrator CGC Mike Posted February 15, 2022 Author Administrator Share Posted February 15, 2022 Ok, the spreadsheet has been fixed. The people I originally tagged will compete in the tiebreaker round. The only change is, 3 people will be disqualified from the top ten instead of 2. That is because Wipple moved up into the top ten. Here is the updated post I made on page 1. So, we are going to do a tiebreaker round to determine the top ten participants. This round will be between: @mccollect @Axelrod @Frederic9494 @HighStakesComics @Point Five @zoso99 @zzutak I will post 2 books, and 4 of these people will fill in the gap between 7th and 10th place on the top ten list, and compete in the final round. (3 people will be eliminated) I will start a thread for this fairly soon. All ten people will retain their scores from the first 3 rounds, and the points given in the final round will be added to their current points. Crops068
Really great job everyone. I had fun and I look forward to seeing who the final 10 are and the last round of books. Axelrod
Man, I knew I would be right on the line.... Not that I can "win" from here vs. the top 3 guys, including an apparent robot grading machine. Just kind of playing for pride, now. I also want to thank @CGC Mike for all the work he's done running this.
