Found these marks in a low grade pick up today. Are they bug bites? 4 4

Wondering if these are Silverfish bite marks or another bug?

Cover is fine but similar pattern of marks on pretty much all the internal pages.

I don’t know much about the type of bugs that eat comics, only one I’m aware of is Silverfish. There’s no visible bugs in the comic but are there any bugs that eat comics that are hard to see with the naked eye?

I’m slightly concerned about introducing this to my collection if there’s any chance there could be live bugs still present : (

Its silverfish chewing.  I would doubt that there would be any issues after placing in a mylar.

Was debating whether to get a graded, might now just to encase it so I don’t have to look at these!

The cover still looks really good IMO, might post more pics in the “spare me a grade” sub.

  this looks exactly like the damage caused to hundreds of my books by live verifiable termites.  however, silverfish damage looks the same and if you have termites you will see them and the grainy residue they leave behind.  silverfish is my guess.

Be thankful the book was only sampled by a few "scouts" rather than the entire colony!    For the record, this is termite (not silverfish) damage.

I have one book that it ate through the book.  Just one hole - about a nail size little bigger than a tack.  How much does it affect the grade?

Yes.  The Battle #26 and MGA #1 were both ravaged by termites.  The black specs that look like finely ground pepper are termite droppings (aka "frass").
