Popular Post Hiro
Going through a box and found these books that were hole punched to clip into a 3 ring binder! I didn't do this. Knew I had them, but haven't seen them in awhile. Some kid back in the day probably thought that it was a cool way to carry their comics. Maybe stealth read them in class with the teacher thinking that they were reading the assignment!? Cool books otherwise and great readers. I know I have a few more somewhere. I remember a BA Joker 1. Will have to look for that. I know this really isn't that uncommon, so show them if you got them... Popular Post Dr Zen
Here's mine. Back in the 80s a guy walked in to my LCS (this is someone the owner had never seen before or since) with 15 to 18 golden age books that all had binder holes. I bought this one. Notice only 1 staple. Got to save those materials. There's a war on. I think I paid $40.00. Which was a lot for a starving college student. Popular Post Robot Man
Probably 35 years ago I bought a large box of 3 HP books from a guy in AZ. Drop dead beautiful but 3 HP. Kevin.J
I dunno what the plan was with this one, only one punch hole and just through the cover not the pages I sent it in for grading a few years ago, it came back a 4.0 I think Edited June 24, 2022 by Kevin.J Hiro and aardvark88
Popular Post zzutak
I had the same reaction as Bob/RobotMan when I ran across these back in 1976. Several hundred sweet Atlas at $1 each. Needless to say, I bought the dealer out. Here's just a small sample of what I added to my permanent collection that day: southern cross, Hiro, 1950's war comics and 12 others

This is what's referred to as a cut-out. In the old days, unsold books and record albums that had been returned to the manufacturer or distributor were marked with either a punched hole or a clipped corner. These returns were then sold at a steep discount. The punched hole or clipped corner allowed retailers to immediately recognize the book/record as a discounted return copy, should anyone present it requesting a refund of the original/undiscounted sale price.
