Popular Post Sigur Ros
Mom would buy me Richie Rich, Dennis the Menace & Archie as I was growing up but when I was finally old enough to ride my bike to the party store, I bought this very copy off the spinner rack. Went back another day and bought more. Edited July 4, 2022 by Sigur Ros drmccoy74, Galen130, the authority and 8 others

Popular Post Sandflea
Had some books prior to the ones pictured on this post; 80 & 100 pagers, Famous 1st Editions, and King-Size Specials, but those were bought for me... later on when I was doing chores for allowance money, my friend and I went to the Super X drugstore and I vividly remember picking these up from the newsstand... Being more of a Spidey fan (after viewing the Saturday morning cartoon show a few years back), my pal kinda talked me into buying the Daredevil issue, being more well-rounded about super-heroes than I was. Daredevil (Vol. 1) #126 was also my 1st known interest of "The Man Without Fear" Thanks Keith (R. I. Popular Post grendelbo
I don't remember. However, over the years I've run across some books I remember from my childhood. These are books I had before I was a collector; books that were probably kept and well-read for weeks or months then tossed. I've bought them again and I'm always on the lookout for others I may recognize. The Transformers is the only original one left. jokiing
I remember reading a 3D Batman (maybe this one) in the 1960's... didn't get very far into the story because the 3D effect made me nauseous. Comic book disappeared soon after. Humpty-Dumpty and telerites
Popular Post ttfitz
I was 6 years old, and it was Christmas time. Back in those days Virginia had a Blue law, where most stores were closed on Sundays. We lived about 45 miles from the TN line, near the twin cities of Bristol VA and TN. "Main Street" of Bristol was called State Street, because the state line went right down the middle of the street. So on Sundays, all the businesses were closed on the VA side but open on the TN side. One Sunday we went for some late Christmas shopping, and I saw a Superman comic on the stand. Very striking cover for a 6-year-old, and Superman was my favorite, I just had to have it. My mother warned me that buying things near Christmas was not a good idea, but I wouldn't listen - I would even spend my own money on it. Come Christmas morning, guess what Santa left in my stocking? Learned an important lesson that day. Had two copies of that book in my collection for many years. Don't know what happened to the other copy, but here's the one I still own: Miket123, drmccoy74, the authority and 5 others
