Bravo! Good job! This is great news!

CGC also adds graders' notes to 9.8's or does it stop at a certain grade?
Not trying to be rude or anything, just actually curious.

Lol.  You won't get notes on a 9.8.  I have a 9.0 that has no notes.  They are not guaranteed for any grade.

@CGC Mike it seems that if there are no notes you only see this message.

This is required.This is required.

Is this the expected UX? I entered in a few of my older books that I never checked on notes before.

I will have to pull them up later, but my George Perez signing books that just came back had a few 9.8 that have graders notes.

The updates will provide greater access and transparency to collectors.

Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) is excited to announce that QR codes will now be included on its certification labels for comic books and magazines, and Grader Notes are now available to all for free. Collectors and dealers can use the QR code or go to CGCcomics.com/certlookup to enter a collectible’s certification number and access not only Grader Notes but also grade date, art comments, number graded in the CGC Census and more.

Quickly look up collectibles on your phone

With the addition of a QR code on the CGC certification label, collectors can quickly look up a collectible and its pertinent information on the CGC website. Simply scan the QR code with your phone and be taken straight to the collectible’s description. It’s never been easier to verify that a CGC holder is genuine and has not been altered. When transacting online, this is essential knowledge that is now at your fingertips.

Access CGC Grader Notes for free

When CGC graders examine a book, they may enter comments about its condition that describe problems, indicate the quality of interior pages and help explain why a collectible received the grade it did. Some examples of CGC Grader Notes include: Right Center Front Cover Lite Fingerprints; Left Center Back Cover Moderate Erasure Mark; Staple Rusted w/Rust Stained Interior. For more information about CGC Grader Notes, click here.

Whenever a comic book has Grader Notes, CGC is making them available for free because they are a valuable part of the grading process that provide more information about CGC-certified comic books. Effective immediately, anyone can go to the free Verify CGC Certification tool and enter the CGC certification number for the collectible that you would like to look up. If Grader Notes are available, they will be viewable here.

Submit collectibles to CGC!

CGC is glad to provide collectors with greater access and transparency into the certification process. For direct submission privileges to CGC, join at the Associate, Premium or Elite membership level and receive other great benefits like 10% off at the CCG Store and a free CGC Shipping Kit Voucher if you are a new member. CGC also recently expanded its $150 Premium and Elite membership credit to include all services and fees. There’s much more to come as CGC continues to optimize its services!

So I went to look up some books on the CGC site to check notes, based on your information but ran into an error when checking books. It says I reached a limit and need to come back later.

If I am at a show and want to check cert numbers before I buy high-value books and run into this, that's an issue.

Are you planning on removing that limit? Can I get more information on how many certs per day I can search on your site or via the QR code?

Exact wording is "Your search activity has exceeded our limits. These limits help to protect the security of our database. Please try again later."

Yeah, I did like 10 or so and got that error.

Hope they can lift that restriction - It would help a lot.

It does happen occasionally…

I have gotten grader’s notes for two 9.8’s over the past couple of years. One for very light tanning FC and another for minimal cover wear

I’ve certainly given CGC my share of carp, so I have to be fair when they do the right thing. This is a huge, positive step in the right direction. Thanks Mike for keeping us alerted.
