I'm curious to know how many of these con exclusives from outlets other than Black Flag are receiving 9.9 and 10's prior to release?  Is this a normal thing now?

It seems quite clear that CGC isn't going to address the 'pay for grades' question...it's been a few of days now since the suspicion was first raised. I wonder if BF would be more receptive to questions?

I'd imagine if this kind of behind the scenes deal went on there would have to be an NDA in place

CGC has their "out". They are going to claim the news of Marvel saying these are not legit has changed their stance and these will not be graded going forward. They will ignore the other 87 issues that have been brought up.

Isn’t it their job to know whether or not a comic is legit before slabbing it?

Heaven forbid they do their DD prior to grading a book to ascertain authenticity.. You know,  so they can actually verify the thing as part of them giving their CGC certification seal...

You'd think that would be part of the Certified....or Guarantee part of their service or name, but.........yeah......

I agree I think variant exclusives should be for attendees first! I personally havent even tried to get a con exclusive in probably 10 years now.

CGC has a data base and experts on their team. Nothing like this would happen unless they choose to let it happen.
