Popular Post Raze
Yesterday I went to the southern Indiana comic book show put on by fellow board member @fastballspecial I drove 3 hours from St Louis and had a good time. Next time Ill have to bring some friends. I met @Azkaban @walclark and @fastballspecial it was finally nice to put faces to the names. The show was all Comic book dealers, no funko only or toys only dealers which was great. There were a few toys and funkos but they were NOT the main thing those dealers were selling. The people I met or talked to were very friendly and gave me some food recommendations in the area. All the dealers were great as well, with a nice overall selection of books available at the show. I did pick up a few books so overall it was a fun experience. I dont know when the next one is, but Id go back to the show if Im available to go. And when I do go back Im going to eat that Pizza place in the mall! Everyone was eating it and it smelled great! That was my only regret. Popular Post Raze
I forgot to mention dealer prices. From what I saw the prices were reasonable and the dealers seemed like they were all selling pretty well. I saw dealers buy and trade. The biggest book I saw sel was a LBCole Trilling Crime pictured. I wasnt at the table at the time but saw the new owner showing it off and talked a little with him. There was one dealer that had a lot of books that I really wanted but was only able to pick up one from him. Popular Post PopKulture
If I'm reading it correctly, it looks like one of the dealers was from Boswell, Indiana, which is a fairly sleepy town now in central Indiana along old US Route 41 - the Dixie Highway. I used to hunt antiques there some moons ago, notably at Nern's, which was housed in a great old, three-story Odd Fellows' building on the west edge of town. I still prefer the mostly-divided Highway 41 to its harrowing counterpart Interstate 65. Every time I'm foolish enough to revisit the idea of I-65, I am quickly disavowed of the notion by at least one if not two or three major back-ups due to construction work or accidents. I'd rather drive through a few small towns and one big, bad Terre Haute than sit for 45 minutes on I-65 and move maybe a mile... F For Fake
I was bummed to miss the show this year. I went to the first one and was happy to meet fastball, Azkaban, etc. Did lots of good buying. This year the show fell on the same weekend as the Arcade Expo, and that's a tradition going back many years with my friends. So, I really couldn't miss it. But I will try to get to the next show if I can! Edited March 15, 2023 by F For Fake fastballspecial, Tony S, Raze and 1 other 3

Popular Post Mutant Manatee
Great report, thanks for starting the thread! I was there too, I made the 1 1/2 hour drive from Robinson, Illinois. Although I was somewhat pressed for time I managed to pick up some gold. I, too, was impressed with the selection and the prices. There was pretty much something for everyone at this show as far as comic books go. I made the majority of my purchases with one dealer, Mark Scott. I was thrilled to pick up a Masked Ranger #9 which is a scarce book with artwork by pretty much the entire Fleagle Gang. That book alone made the trip worthwhile for me. This was my first experience with this show but I will definitely be returning in the future!
