Popular Post Raze
Well for the second week in a row I went to a comic show! I drove 3 hours 20 min to Kansas City from St. Louis for Planet Comicon! I only went on Sunday because it was a last minute decision with my friend. My friend had never been to a Comic Con and he use to collect comics, but hasn't collected since 2005 when he moved. His interest has sparked up since he moved back here and found that Im still collecting. He hasn't really started to collect (yet) but really liked the ASM 55 webhead book. Well he was in luck because Patrick Gleason (artist that did asm 55) was there and he bought the print of the asm 55 along with the green goblin and venom webhead variants. I did bring the copy of asm 55 to get signed that I got from @fastballspecial at his show last week in Indiana. The show floor set up hasn't really changed since I was there last in 2018? I cant remember when I last went. I dont like the way its set up but that could just be me. The one thing I DID NOT like was the $55 for a Sunday only ticket. That seems steep, maybe Im being unfair but that seems like a C2E2 OR NYCCC Sunday ticket price and those are big shows, KC not so much in comparison. The crowd size was nice and manageable and and had penalty of space to move which was nice. I only picked up 2 books and one was an upgrade (WSF 27) the other a Neal Adams Batman (243) I only bought this to try and loosen up my wallet...it didn't work. I didn't do a lot of digging so after looking at the wall books I asked dealers if they had any GA boxes. Only a few did so I looked thought those. I did get to hold a Tomb of Terror 15 CGC 2.5, it was $5500, needless to say its not mine... I did see a few books that piqued my interest but, I didnt really go after them. Guess it was because I was having fun hanging with my friend. Artist ally was nice. I got to meet Patrick Gleason and Dawn McTiege (I dont think thats how's it spelled) I wanted to meet Jim Steranko but I could NOT find my Cap 110! and Plus his sig is $50. He had some nice prints but Im not a prints collector, so just walking up and saying" Hi nice to meet you I enjoy your work" didn't feel right so I just walked by...stupid I know. I did see some pretty cool prints that I liked but like I said I not a prints guy. My friend asked me why i dont buy prints and I didn't have a good answer. Prices. I think another reason for me not buying more was that prices seemed a little high, not outrageous but a little high. I could be wrong. There was a EC book (css 11) that I saw for $495 with a bad spine ,rusty staples. There's a nice VG+ on ebay $400. I saw Batman 234 for $450 but found a better one on ebay for a $100 less and in same grade range. These are only 2 examples, I could be wrong. Im posting wall pics so you tell me if some of the prices were out of line. I did see a few dealers that I have bought from in the past and they said they had a good show, which Im glad to hear. Food, if you ever find yourself in Kansas City and you like BBQ ( I dont like BBQ my friend does) go to Q39! It is BY FAR the BEST BBQ Ive had! I had a Burnt End Bisket Burger... and the BBQ sauce was great!! I know another friend and board member @mwotka had a good time as well, I think he went on Friday. Overall my friend and I had a great time...now some pics! The Lions Den, KirbyJack, Azkaban and 8 others 9

Raze
Apparently, there were guests that made the movie the Terrifier at the show doing a panel. If you are a fan of horror, movies, do yourself a favor and go watch the Terrifier! RayJr, troy.division and dover
Popular Post The Commissioner
I love this show but I hate how expensive it is. Almost $70 for a Saturday pass after taxes and online fees. Other than that, I had a great time. Lots of people wearing Mandalorian armor. fastballspecial
Sweet so the cost to you was $55 for one day. Did it live up to your expectations. Its looks like there were alot of dealers from your pics. How many would estimate were there? Ive been to Chicago and STL many times, but never KC. Raze

Ive been to Chicago and STL many times, but never KC. $55 for a Sunday (10-5 shorten times) Ticket $70 for Saturday or $110? for a 3 day. 20+ dealers-ish. Some pics of the dealers took 2-3 to get their wall. Plus a ton more vendors that sold toys, funkco, Candy, and anything pop culture. Ive been to this show 4-5 times and it is a good show that can be done in 1 day. Meaning you can see it all and do some shopping. C2E2 is a 2 day show to see it all. That by no means mean its not worth going. As to meeting expectations I never have any going to this show, my friend and I had fun and thats all that matters in the end. Ive only been to this show with friends so Ive not been alone, not like when I went to your show or C2E2then Im by myself. Also there is a nice show called Quad con coming to St Charles (30 outside STL) on this Sunday March 26. It is a good small show 5-10 comic dealers 40+ dealers of pop culture items. PM me if you want more info Edited March 21 by Raze
