Not sure he sold as much though I've heard that, don't know that I ever saw it. Dark Knight Golden Child art by Grampa was offered at similar prices. Don't know what sold. Fall Sunrise had high prices and immediate sell out. I wonder how long it actually took. 10 min? Felix was really quick with some of the "sorry, already claimed" emails. I went for a DPS and panel page. gumbydarnit and Nexus

I've seen people use "LS" (for limited series), e.g., "the Wolverine LS" [from 1982], but, had never before seen anyone use MS for mini-series. Not sure he sold as much though Some Capullo Batman was close, some Court of Owls stuff is still probably in this range, but the run got horrible as it went on. Lots of pages sold but there is a lot of supply still left that will never sell. Grampa DK3 sold maybe 1/3 of the interior of the book at similar/slightly lower prices. Marini Dark Prince Charming interior prices may actually have been slightly higher overall, not sure how much of it sold. SGM Batman interiors have been selling for more and more and the best pages and covers are probably close. As far as covers go there have been a fair amount of modern covers that have gotten or would get insane prices so 50k for the cover isn’t completely crazy. Big thing with these prices as well is knowing how nice/professional and overall good guy Felix is. People want to do business with him as opposed to some other reps/artists that I would be hesitant doing 5 figure buys from. That, combined with a lack of supply, and obviously the market thought the prices justified. Popular Post rikemice
Won't lie, these prices really surprised me. But it is really nice to see an artist charge what they think their work is worth — and get it. Congrats to Tradd and Felix for knowing their audience. I can't imagine they will be wishing they had charged more when these start to change hands. Dirtcheap31
I try hard not pay a premium solely for lack of supply because the art will some day be out there and one day it will be all out there what I like is when it’s all on the market and the market determines it’s true value… like I do not believe supply for this artist will get less… don’t get me wrong like the art don’t love the price but hey if people will pay…
Popular Post brettfes
i want to kind of come at this a bit laterally. i think tradd deserves all the praise and success for the work/story/art he has created, but i kinda also recognize that he creates what he does in a bubble and once its done then well, like most "products" in the modern world it then becomes up to marketing to create hype, awareness and get it into the hands of those that want such things. if i search the book on ebay for cgc copies i find almost none and they sell for less than the cost of slabbing the book, i can get the ls/ms from my lcbs no problem, there is a treasury edition coming also so i know i can see the art larger and in greater detail... and i would think in terms of publishing numbers that this series is looked upon as a minor sucess or perhaps not a success at all. without diamond sales numbers its tougher to figure, so perhaps i am off base, but it seems my impression if nothing else. but clearly in the original art market this thing is a wild success, and tradd is da bomb. i think alot of credit has to goto felix... for... well... doing his job. i think he's having success with what's called product-market fit. in essense - you have to find out what people want to buy from you, and figure out how to deliver it to them. i think he encourages his artists to have unique, strong voices in a business that endlessly copies and self references itself, and uses tried and true marketing strategy that has proven to work on collectors - so, after years of supporting and encouraging his creators... both he and said creators are enjoying success. he speaks with the voice of a taste-maker and that i think collectors (almost) forget he's a rep. he's tapped into a more than healthy amount of fomo and directly into the speculative comic hive-mind.... and finally, there is also clearly strong social/caf street cred with being able to show that there is a piece of tradd's art in your collection. in short, there is alot of hype. so, without going further, i think while we congralate tradd, we should extend that to felix. they are both proving they are good at what they do. now the other question? will these prices look like peanuts or poop in the future? who knows... but i suspect it will be decisively in one camp or the other... no middle ground. Tradd’s art is pretty neat, but I cannot see any of these pages reselling for a profit or at break-even in the future. I’m my opinion, it will take years for the art to mature into what people are paying. I have had this opinion for many years: new art is a bad investment. Once the heat dies on this series, I think people are going to sit back and wonder to themselves “what the heck was I thinking?”. Kudos to Felix for being a great artist rep and helping the art sell out. No one can ever doubt his marketing ability. For the money, I like a number of Alvaro Bueno’s art which just showed up on CAT. Part of the “realistic” school, with nicely done pencils, and some inks. Popular Post Matches_Malone
Tradds art is sublime. I was one of the many waiting for 12:00 EST to submit my purchase request, but when I saw the price tag for the page that I wanted for 20K I had to take a step back. I was expecting 10K-12K. There are many items on my want list that I much rather acquire at that specific price point. Congrats to Tradd, Felix and all the buyers. Michael Browning
As far as investments go, in my opinion, Skottie Young art is the Beanie Babies of OA collecting and Tradd Moore art is the Funko Pops.
