Where is the link to Round 4? I don't see it.

With all the threads it can get lost in the shuffle, but it is on the 1st page, just needs looking for.

without doing the math, my best round. 2 bullseyes & all the rest within 1 grade. Not a great endorsement of using my brain to do thinking.

Have you read Fredrik Backman's "Anxious People"?  I highly recommend it...those who have read it will understand this tag post :headbang:

@CGC Mike

Mike, you advised in its raw state that Lois had 'Moderate finger bends on cover'. The slabbed note says 'Light creasing to cover'. That's a big difference and may explain why many of us graded it much lower than the CGC final grade. Additionally, light staining becomes very light staining.

Two questions:

  1. Why are the before / after grading notes different? Surely you (CGC) select the books for the contest after they have been graded (to ascertain any restoration) in which case the notes you provide at the raw stage should be the same as those in the slabbed results post?
  2. Are any of the books pressed after we see them in their raw state? This might explain why moderate finger bends became light creasing.

A similar metamorphosis took place with Book #15 (Junie Prom #6).

Then:

Now:

"Moderate finger bends on cover" somehow morphed into a "Moderate crease upper left back cover" -- a flaw that nobody (as of this moment) has been able to point out.  And did we really need to be advised, up front, that this book has a stain at the upper left edge of the back cover (a blemish that is totally obvious in the scan)?

Hi guys

I was able to take the time to find out what went wrong here.  These 2 mistakes were 100% my fault.  I was viewing the books with 1 browser, and had another open which contained the graders notes.  The goal was to determine if I was able to find any defects that were listed in the notes, but not visible in the scans.  Somehow, I ended up viewing notes from different books, instead of the correct ones that went with the scans I was viewing.  Another lesson learned the hard way.  I apologize to everyone that was affected by this, and promise to be a lot more careful next time.  Here are all of the notes for the first 3 rounds, so you can see what I did wrong.
