If the point is that TPAs make mistakes, "fakeautographs" is using a misleading example.

The seller "fakeautographs" is referring to is a Chinese seller who offers fakes with COUNTERFEIT Beckett stickers. Beckett is not certifying the fakes. Chinese knockoff slabs and stickers are a problem, but usually easily identifiable especially when coming from a Chinese seller with hundreds of items at 1/10th typical FMV.

heres what happens when TPA doesnt do their homework.....this is by all accounts a secretarial & shes been sec pretty much from the beginning......used form letters from 1964-66. Eastwood sec since 70s , de Niro since 1982

I'm kinda excited. Stan signed my facsimile copy of AF #15 "To Mark, Stan Lee" which is cool in itself. It's in a great place - under Spidey's extended left arm - and I'd love to have it pressed and authenticated and (hopefully) slabbed with a SS label.

I’m starting to get nervous about this. Not that I buy a ton of CBCS slabs, but the way they use the same label color for witnessed and verified sigs is terrible.

I would have to disagree. Multiple label colors are a distraction.  It's reasonable to assume comic book collectors have basic reading skills.  CBCS's labels clearly indicate if the book was "signed by xxx on xxx date" or if  "signature verified by BAS". Either way, it's a book with a signature. To those that it matters which way - read the label.

So my hope - and expectation - is that CGC will treat verified - by JSA - signatures  to the same yellow SS label.

My money is on a yellow label with a JSA logo or something of notable size to be easily visible. Perhaps replacing the CGC hologram.

This is not a bad guess. They'll need to distinguish the verified signature from the witnessed signature somehow, but I'm sure they paid a tremendous amount of money to acquire JSA. They're not going to spend that much money to give it a less-desirable designation, like a striped or different-colored label. Their goal is to sell this, not to buy it and then scream that it's less valuable than a witnessed sig.

And this would be awful and put CGC on the same level as CBCS. I realize people really want to put their green labels in yellow but the Signature Series brand would effectively be destroyed. No one wants to squint to figure out if what they’re looking is witnessed or verified.

"i collect signed funko pops and im part of FB group Funko Autograph Society.
There was Emerald City Comic Con between Feb 29, 2024 – Mar 3, 2024
and a person Gaby Renderos was a very famous consigner for years with connections and etc etc etc...

So this madam was busted faking many autographs and passing them through JSA easily cause "they knew her".
Now there is a total chaos cause apparently she was faking autographs for a good amount of time"-

"First thing I’m sure everyone will ask is: where is the proof?

  1. She had a team of 3 people. Chris Evan’s Item cap was 2 per trip. They went through 3 separate times. (2) item cap was enforced. 6 items at 3 line trips = 18 items…..they had close to 30. They told me themselves that everything was signed AT the event, and nothing signed outside was brought in.

  2. The consigner mentioned to others that there was a chance of a backroom deal for Chris Evans…this was NEVER the case, and never happened.

  3. They personally told me, no QR codes were scanned. While going to SWAU authentication, they had no QR codes presented at all. If they had them, they were never shown once told items were faked.

  4. They had a few redemption tickets for items, but not the amount needed for the items she had for Evans…

  5. Since this instance, more have been flagged from previous events. Items in question, and believed to be forged both for ECCC and previous events, will be posted below"

"Member" (what a great name) said it well. CCG  did not spend what was most likely a dump truck full of money on JSA just devalue the purchase by creating some new disliked and looked down on label. It' is near certain that verified books will have a  yellow signature series label.  It will either be in the text on the label that JSA authenticated the signature. OR - maybe more likely - there will be a snappy looking JSA logo somewhere on the label.

If it's a JSA logo maybe people be able to see it without squinting:bigsmile:
