Tough for me, not many standouts. I narrowed in on Popular Teenagers 21, Confessions 8 and Popular Teenagers 19 simply because of the female imagery and the white cover backgrounds which I like a lot. I also went with True To Life 15 (war and romance work for me) and Top Love 18 (again the white background with the colours and the woman smoking...I just like it).

I can see why Top Love 8 gets love (it was probably next on my list) along with Popular Teenagers 5 but the business of that cover (too much top text) and the blues on Top Love 8 pushed them lower for me personally.

I love that you are taking on this survey.  I want to understand your process better; all Cole romance covers will be presented in four groups and "fans" get to pick five from said group?  What if you put all my favorite ten covers into one group?  Surely I wouldn't want to elevate five other books in the other three sets to the next round over the five I couldn't vote for from my favorite ten.  ???

I posted in the LB Cole Thread:

I ran into a problem with the approach because the Board poll function only allows 20 items in a poll.

So this will take a couple rounds to get to the final poll.

First two polls are up.  I'll do the next two Thursday evening.

I did attempt to split up the better covers amidst each of the poll groups.  The top 5 from each group will move into Round 2 where will crown the winner.

I eliminated 3 comics from the list because of the limit to only 20 books in each poll.  I chose these for having the least amount of LB Cole art

Good eye!  :applause:

No question he swiped a number of figures... definitely more than I would have thought 10 or 20 years ago. I'd say his talent was putting them together in vibrant, poster-like covers.

Very true. He's much more a graphic artist with an eye towards montage and design than an artist per se.'

And these 2 are in the grass and draped in tree cover.  Are the making out or playing hide and go seek?
