Having a comic which is the 1st appearance of a character you like is awesome. By the same token I don't get chasing 1st appearances of characters you don't care about. During the boom in particular we had people going crazy for the 1st appearances of any character appearing in an MCU show or movie including some I'd never heard of such as miscellaneous Skrulls. That is probably more about speculation & flipping rather than collecting.

In my digital reading of moderns I enjoyed the Uncanny X-Force run which included a cool new character Fantomex. Anyway while digging through boxes at an out of the way comic book garage sale I was happy to stumble upon his 1st appearance to add to my little run of New X-men's. (See the Paris Olympics thread where I've posted his 1st cover which was also there.)
