Is anyone else getting books back with warped inner wells? 23 23

That said, something like that statement - that they are aware and trying to fix it, however they couch it to avoid potential liability - is kind of what we need to be hearing.

Still chilling on any submissions in the meantime.

Funny.  They deny it to everyone that submits the issue and claim it’s normal.  Tells me they don’t take it serious.

Wealthy Exec's need them bonus'.  20-24 months is what is required for the resume to get while the gettin' is good.

See it all the time in my firm which is in the Fortune 15.   Execs who stay around for greater than 4 years are outliers, 2 years is the norm. Blackstone is 464 so my guess is it's a testing for many resume padders "on the rise"

2) I don't understand why CGC would issue a statement to this youtuber while giving the complete silent treatment to the people raising and complaining about the warping on their very own website.  It wasn't possible to say this directly to their ACTUAL REAL customers?  This sort of tone deafness does not lend itself to credibility.  Having said that, it's nice to hear that CGC is at least doing SOMETHING to figure it out.

4) CGC take heed... there's only one factor that keeps CGC at the top of the grading food chain: the fact that CGC graded books bring the highest prices.  If CGC copper and modern books graded in 2024 start to get lower prices because folks are afraid to buy them, this will surely change the competitive environment.  And it would likely be only a matter of time before this deterioration spreads to the other ages.  I can tell you with absolute confidence that I will not be submitting any more comics to CGC if I can get better prices by grading elsewhere.   

5) to end on a more positive note, kudos again to CGC for allowing this discussion to take place openly on their chat board.  You guys should be participating more in the chat, but the fact that you're allowing it to take place is to be commended.

My guess is that the lawyers have told CGC execs and community managers to not admit to any knowledge of a problem or damages because if they do they open themselves up to lawsuits.  I'd imagine that right now they're trying to figure out how to roll out a fix without admitting the severity of the problem, when it started, how much damage has been done, that they ever even knew about it, etc, etc.  And yes, I think a fix is coming because this is now clearly causing people to not submit books to them, and that's a direct impact on their bottom line.  The longer it goes the more people stop submitting and the more damage to their reputation.  And while the reputational impact might be slow, it means that alternatives become more and more attractive regardless of any perceived greater value to CGC books on the market.  At some point there's a tipping point, and if they're smart they want to stay as far away from that as possible.

Uh...they did replicate it eight times over on the ME submission I sent them to fix this very issue.

Yes as I stated much earlier in this thread, all 59 books of mine from the Wolverine/Claremont signing have warped wells.  The X-Men photos that keep being reposted are my 9.8 books with 3-4 sigs.

At this point those of us who have gotten screwed up books, damaged books, this , should quit messing around with them and contact our banks and initiate chargeback processes. If cgc won't promptly fix things and their quality control is so poor that they are letting things like this out the door, then screw them. They are damaging our property and the types of damage and the types of screw ups that are going on are growing at an exponential rate.

After providing the back and forth between their customer service and myself, my bank had no issue doing it for me.

This is the first video I’ve seen that shows inner well measurements of new and slightly older slabs. His measurements say they are the same size. He also says the books will lay flat a short while after removal from the inner well.

He mentions posting on the boards, so  hopefully he’s a boardie. If so, very well done.

His name is stephan in the 1st few seconds, so could be our very own @Stefan_W which kudos to hear the noise and still keep at it to give Lord willing information. Even if for now some have the privilege of thinking it is not as common or somehow not widespread in damage, just to keep level and provide the info. I'm sure it still isn't perfect, but when specifically silent from "management" for now it is all we have despite opposition, and the evidence of our own books before our eyes!
