SPIDER3.jpg

Splash page from a 1960s (UK) story, "The Spider vs. the Sinister Seven" by Reg Bunn.

Interestingly, Superman creator Jerry Siegel scripted this serial.

Missing the logo (which I can live with), but featuring Bunn's delicate line-work and use of white-out as an effect.

The Spider always reminded me of the Sub-Mariner in the looks dept.

Re: one of 4 comics I had as a kid

Man, you only had four comics as a kid. You must have read them to death.

Re: Recreation

Loved those stories, too.

Yup, I'd pull them out of the drawer every few months and give them a good read. It wasn't until I was an adult that I was able to learn what happened in the next issue. :)

I wonder if this has had any impact on the way I now collect comic art hm

I drove 105 minutes each way to pick up two pre-arranged pieces at Wizard Philly today. Tom Raney called out but is doing my Dr Strange anyway. But I got my Stephen Segovia, thanks to Stephen and Kirk for the help -

and I also got a great Stargirl from Chrissie Zullo. I know she has drawn Stargirl for someone else before, but I got one anyway and am glad I did.

I wrote these up on my blog, fedres420.blogspot.com It makes me sick to type that, but if no one knows no one reads, so there it is.

I lurk here all the time to see everyone elses cool stuff. But today I get to contribute. Just got this today. :cloud9:

Artist is Hugh Rookwood. He called it his Marvel Tribute to the Classics.

I got a great surprise yesterday. A Legion of Super-Heroes drawing from Thom Zahler.

Check it out here. There's more to the story. Besides, clicking helps support the CAF, lets you see the additional images that I posted, and makes it easier for you to tell me how great my pickup is. :makepoint:

For the truly link averse, here's the computer colored image:

and here's the B&W drawing:

Nice ! I wanted to bid on a couple of his auctions after I seen the last ones you posted, but he wont ship out of the U.S. :(

Can you have someone in the US ship it to you?

we don't know each other, but I could send something out in the future.

(geez, that was unexpected. I am in a bad mood and that came out?)
