Strange Adventures

I don’t believe the 10¢ portion of the series has ever been hot, but I was a huge fan of sci-fi stories as a kid in the 1950s, so I’ve always enjoyed the title.  Strange Adventures issues have been found in more Golden Age / Atomic Age Pedigree Collections than any other title.  Issues #1-20 are common in high grade (which I’ll chalk up to the fact that this series appealed to older, well-established pulp collectors).  However, the late pre-code and early post-code issues are quite hard to find in grades above about 6.0 FN.  Assembling this run has been a really fun 60-year challenge.  Nearly all of these specimens were purchased raw and submitted for CGC certification by me.

Wow, just another jaw dropping set Jay! A true labor of love. I’ve only got maybe 20 of those lacking just a couple to have what I want. Never wanted them all. I suppose you got a similar set of Mystery in Space to go along with them?

I enjoyed all of DC’s Atomic Age / 10¢-era fantasy/mystery/sci-fi series, and I once had pretty nice, 80~90% complete runs of most of ‘em.  There was a point (several years back) when collecting began to feel a bit burdensome.  So I made the decision to “liberate” myself  by selling most of my collectibles (books, comics, non-sport cards, psychedelic-era concert posters, and toys/games).  Most of my Atlas and DC runs went intact to younger collectors who had the energy and resources needed to complete ‘em.

My Strange Adventures and Venus runs will be with me to the very end.

Not really a group. Rather a pair. But I feel these two belong together. Both received CGC 6.5 OW-W. Both covers by MR. Sprang. Both feature a very predominant Joker with B&R in the background. Both have that Golden Age yellow with red that I love so much.
