Barton, what do you like so much about ASM 144? I do recall that Gwen shows up in the end I believe, but I don't remember the story at all.

It is the beginning of the Jackal/Clone story. And those are some of my earliest Spidey memories. But mostly I think it's just a great cover. It's mysterious, dramatic, and I even love the garbage in the street.

I began in the early 130's range, and the MVS's got me started at buying other titles, new. Then I found out we had one thrift store on the base(Mannheim Germany), so I was trading new stuff for old, for a nickel each. It took me until the #147 range to discover dealer ads and begin to buy the old issues. I still have most of those low grade raw copies.
