From what I know, there are scattered early to mid Silver Age books confirmed to be from the pedigree without the red date stamp, but from 1963-'67 it's found on the majority.  Former board member Redhook was an avid Green River pedigree comic collector, and put together a large database of scanned examples from the collection - my recollection is that most but not all were stamped.

I’ve never heard of those articles but there is a great YouTube video that came out shortly after his death.  It is titled “Remembering Tommy Maletta.” I hope you get a chance to watch it.
