I read these as a kid -- sort of a Hardy Boys join the Space Patrol in terms of plot and quality. It was more pleasant to look back on them than it was to re-read them.

This is a very strong painted cover -- I love how it captures the gravity of the cowboy's impending doom. 893applaud-thumb.gif

I'm not sure if it has either, but I'm enjoying this one now! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Your FC collection continues to blow me away.

Does anyone know who painted (airbrushed??) these Bozo covers? The quintessential rosy-cheeked kid. I used to dislike them but now I see them as strong archetypes of their style. Same artist that did many Ziff-Davis covers?

I recall seeing some type of art from Western publishing by Allan Anderson so it's possible he did comics work for them. Allan and Norm Saunders did almost all of the ZD covers.

Thanks. Anderson seems right to me -- in fact, I've seen similar art IDed as his before. I'll remember all those artists names eventually.

I quickly checked Dave Saunders checklist of Anderson's work in the recent issue of Illustration # 18 but no mention of any Dell work was made. confused-smiley-013.gif

Back to "mystery artist"!

Thanks,
