Plus, one of the most beautiful cars EVER was produced in the early 70s...

Wouldn't that honor really go to the Lamborghini Miura SV? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Nope. The Miura is overstylized Eurotrash compared to the pure joy of the Ferrari Daytona's lines.

Watch the Gumball Rally sometime and listen the sonorous V-12 sing like an opera star cloud9.gif (with Raoul Julia behind the wheel).

[i'll try and add some better pics tonight. smile.gif]

No Way dude, they rock!

The 70's rocked for me! headbang.gif

'77 saved rock music! There was a huge music drought of good new musicians that did start before 1969.

NYC was a great place to be in the 70's, CBGB's what a dive, but such a great place to party! yay.gif

But, yeah, disco did suck. BIG TIME! sumo.gif

Damn, I must be one of the few that actually liked disco in the 70s crazy.gif

Just like Vanilla Ice, people say they've always hated him...

but damn for so many people that hate him

he sure did sell a lot of records

so I guess somebody liked him back then...

I will come out of the closet to admit I still love disco: Bee Gees, Boney M, Rod Stewart (pre the horrid American Songbook "tributes"), Donna Summer, Olivia Newton John, Yvonne Elliman. cloud9.gif

Did you ever get to see any big names there before they were famous?

Elvis Costello, The Police, Blondie, Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc... I loved New Wave/Punk, the father to Alt. Rock.

At my wedding a couple of years ago, we gave the DJ a list of mostly that type of music from the 70s and what did he play, friggin disco! tonofbricks.gif

one of the coolest toys of the 70s...

Wikipedia:

Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots is a two-player game/toy designed by Marvin Glass and Associates and released by Marx in 1967

Jack

Well even though it wasn't born in the 70's doesn't mean

that it wasn't the toy of the 70's...

It is impossible not to get sucked [so to speak] into this discussion.

So YOU are the person who likes Rod Stewart after Never a Dull Moment?

I knew there was someone out there, or he would have quit releasing albums. I just never imagined that I would meet (or even e-meet) that person.

How many copies of each album did you buy?

For every bada$$ genre of the 70's it almost always became that way in a nostalgia sense and not at the time.

There were tupperware parties, people. Tup-per-ware. Jesus.

Cartoons went from Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie to Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry. The 70's gave us Batman and the Globetrotters, Speed Buggy, and Gazoo (the green martian from the Flintstones)

Gotta give it up for Stretch Armstrong though

Don't get me started on this one!!!

I love the 70's.... what's wrong with some of you!!??

A range of music from the end of the hippy revolution, into glam rock, Dark side, then Punk to shake it all up.

Bronze Age, probably my favourite time in comics at the moment.

Too many things to mention, but I did like buying cigarettes in 2's and 3's from my local newsagents when I was about 14 in my school break, they split the pack and put them in a candy striped bag with a box of matches!! Happy days!

Now the 80's That was truely an awful awful decade, YUK!!! sign-rantpost.gif
