jbcomicbox
Wow that looks cool but the tempature swings and moisture must reak havoc with those books? You could have mold all over them one day. Been collecting since 1972. Moved into my home in 1982. I had the basement walls redone with vapor and other guards and sheet-rocked over that. The basement is totally below ground. So it stays cool (uniform) all the time. There are no windows. Humidity. Not a problem. I have a dedicated dehumidifier which goes direclty into a floor drain in the next room. I have stored my books like this in my house since 1982. No problems. It actually is a great set-up. Jon

mica
Home makeover, extreme geek edition? That would finally cure my wife of watching all of that Spoon. "Look honey let's sit back and for the next 5 hours watch as they knock out the wall that was dividing the GoldenAge room from the SilverAge room." I'm sure then she'd finally turn off the TV. Mine are similar. the temp goes up a little in the summer, but not much. Humidity is 35% in winter and peaks at say 55% in summer. The dehumidifier can only do so much. KirbyJack
Mr. Berk, that is amazing. I'd not checked this thread in quite a while and just now got to see the room (wow). The funny thing is, I had just been thumbing thru a copy of Comic Book Marketplace #35. I'm a bit surprised they didn't show more then!

pmpknface
Here are a few pics of my room. I've got a lot of statue pics, but I'll spare you most of them. Here we start at the 2nd floor before going up to the "comic attic." I've got another one of these bookshelves to put together. And then up to the COMIC BOOK ROOM!!! pmpknface
And just to be complete... Top of the stairs (and the Kitty): The other corner of the room (there's 6+long boxes there you still can't see): Close up of the bookcase (and the Marvel digests on the floor): This is what is behind the cubes, well.... most of it anyway:
