  1. Several months ago I had trouble logging into and/or posting onto the Chat group due to the use of an old browser. i downloaded Chrome and found that solved my problems. I think internet Explorer has become blocked for some sites/chat groups. Chrome is free and works very well. I still use Explorer for some things but not all that are on me list. Bruce
  2. I traded my copy for some early Duck books. It was a sad loss. I think I was suffering from nutritional shortage at the time.
  3. Wanted FF 4 really bad and Spidey 2 but missed both. Had a chance to buy another AF 15 but thought $200 was too much. Showcase 4, 6, 8, 13 and 14 were on my list for a long time but no luck.
  4. Love the art by Cole. He also did a lot of cartoons for joke magazines and signed them as Jake.
  5. I saw an ad for this piece and polished it up a little with photoshop.
  6. I sold my copy last year. It is still one of my favorites.
  7. Issues I have seen do not have a content page. There are no indicia printed at the bottom of the first page of each issue, i.e., Captain Marvel, Spy Smasher, etc.. ID can be done based on the stories and info from Comic Plus or the GCD. The content of Gift 2 is: Captain Marvel 13 Spy Smasher 6 Bulletman 7 Wow 7 Whiz 32 I don't think the value varies with content. Issues one and two all contain the issues that I have listed, I think. There are no covers included inside the Gift.
  8. I started a thread about Gift comics a few years ago. Below is the remarks I made about your Gift 1. "The contents may have been consistent from one year to the next. The first year of gift according to Rick in Slam Bang 2 contained: Captain Marvel 5 Bulletman 4 Ibis 1 Wow 5 Whiz 26
  9. I like those early Superman covers. Simple but impressive.
  10. I like Smash comics because the covers are so simple. I am still looking for info about the Feature 27 inside covers by the way.
  11. Perhaps I should get these graded?
  12. I don't see the attraction of the first page. I think the Batman story at the end has a pretty good splash. By the way, I also bid on that lot of comics because I wanted the Superman 2. I think the other stuff looks pretty good too.
  13. I found a coverless WF 3 but the first page was missing. I purchased a nice replica cover for it.
  14. I found a lot of Sandman stories but missing the rest of the book. I think the first one is Adventure 47 which I have but forgot what the other story is from.
  15. Frazetta did some great covers for ME westerns and Famous Funnies.
  16. I had a chance to buy a super low grade for cheap but I try not to purchase books that are too fragile.
  17. It has been mentioned before but just in case someone forgot. Planet 54 cover is inspired by Planet 24. It is a little better when the colors are bright. Later covers included a girl with a raygun which was probably a better strategy than hitting the villain in the head with a mace used like a polo mallet.
  18. I purchased a small group of EC comics from Bob Horn several years ago and I was happy that cover was in the pile.
  19. I enjoyed the stories in those issues. My brother and Mom picked them up from the corner store back in my youth.
  20. Don't know if this was used in a comic but I like this big page by Milton Caniff.
  21. First page of action 21 is an ad page. Second page is a splash with start of story. Your page is the third page.
