  1. I have Planet 42-44 but prefer the cover of Planet 22. Planet 59 was the first issue that I purchased at a local show.
  2. Since these old posts, I have found a couple copies of Almanac of Crime which contain a Phantom Lady Comic. I think this info was posted somewhere else but should post here too.
  3. Those issues look pretty nice. They probably will grade as Fine or better, 6.0 plus.
  4. I have a similar copy with a Four Color 256 interior. I think the interior was added to an extra cover that was found.
  5. Not all fifties but good representatives of the genre.
  6. Always liked this cover and glad to see other people appreciate Mary 5.
  7. That cover is a reprint from another MLJ comic. The splash is signed by Paul Reinman in Pep 32.
  8. Germans never had a large bomber like the Lancaster or B-17 or at least not during the Battle of Britain. If they had, the bombing of London would have been more devastating.
  9. It looks like your English version of Tarzan comics were reprints of Hogarth's Tarzan stories originally published in the Sunday funnies of many American newspapers. Early comic book editions in the USA were by Foster but both Hogarth and Foster art were reprinted in Sparkler and Tip Top.
  10. Some pretty good anti-axis stories in Spy Smasher and other Fawcett publications.
  11. By the way, the above comic is a reprint of Whiz 32 which is also found in Gift 2. Gift 2 also contains several other comics which are from 1942, including Spy Smasher 6, Bulletman 7, Captain Marvel 13 and Wow 7.
  12. Hedy was so gorgeous and so smart. Glad she was on our side.
  13. certainly a comic that reminds us of possible germ warfare but its a bacillus which can be treated with numerous antibiotics...I have that issue and like it a lot.
  14. Your ASM 8 and 14 are really nice looking copies. The ASM 14 has some flaws but i think it is still better than the copy I have.
  15. You are referring to the Chinese soldiers on the cover of Daring 9, I guess. I notice in the new production of the movie Midway they mention 200,000 Chinese were killed for hiding Doolittle and other air force personnel involved in the bombing of Tokyo. Chinese and Soviets suffered great loss of soldiers and civilians during WWII.
  16. These Brave and the Bold issues aren't very old but I got some of them from a bale of old magazines being recycled at the local paper mill back in the sixties. My friends and I searched the stacks in their storehouse on Sunday when work was shut down. We found a lot of comics with covers in one bale while most of the comics on the conveyor belt were coverless. Before we could open the rest of the bale, we were caught by the security guard and kicked out. My friend, George, hid the Suicide Squad issue in his shirt and we all left with a stack of coverless comics. While walking up the road at the side of the factory, the police arrived, arrested us and took us downtown for fingerprinting. They let us go after a few hours and we walked home. My friend wanted to go back and see if there were more comics with covers. I was tired and hungry and didn't want to get arrested again. So I didn't go. He never found any more comics and I never went back to the paper mill.
  17. Almost all of these Calgary Eyeopeners were purchased from an antique dealer at Kutztown Extravaganza. He also had a few comics which included Amazing Spiderman 6. Spiderman cost a hundred dollars but the other mags were cheap.
  18. Found the Catman 31 on the back of a pick-up truck at Renningers. Purchased a Daring and a Detective from the same guy. He collected cap pistols but didn't want the comics.
