  2. CGC is very hard on books with water stains. I personally wouldn't buy it because it will be hard to resell if you ever decide to.
  3. My guess is a clean and press should bring it up to an 8.0. The corners look too rounded to grade higher, but I'm no expert on CGC's grading methods.
  4. I don't believe in key bumps so 5.5. I like the date stamp on the front page. Very cool!
  5. Since you were never really a collector, I just want to remind you to be very careful when handling books in high grade like this one. One little paper bend or a finger smudge can make a big difference in value.. A copy of this book graded at 9.8 recently sold on ebay for $400.00 dollars whereas a 9.6 sold for around $120.00. This book might have a chance at a 9.8. Be very careful with it and protect it well if you mail it in to be graded. Good luck!!
  6. That is a pretty big crease on the back. I would grade it 8.0.
  7. Edge wear, rounded corners, creases, and staple wear. I would estimate 7.0. maybe 7.5.
  8. I guess the only Cherry Poptarts I will be able to find will be at Ralphs Market. Oh wait.... MyComicshop has them! Yay!!
  9. My thoughts as well. its 9.4 as is, but those creases can be easily pressed out.
  10. My copy is white. It does appear that it is color rub as stated above.
  11. I wonder how many people marry MJ inserts into other books. I have a lot of Arak and Orion books that don't need them anymore.
  12. Hoo boy. Even sellers are going crazy!! UNCANNY X-MEN #141 CGC 9.3 - DAYS OF FUTURE PAST!!! NOT CGC 9.8!!!! | eBay
  13. As with any book. You buy the book you can afford at the highest grade possible. Why did the hobby turn into the stock market? Prices will drop eventually, but by how much? What if the next Venom movie stinks? What if it is better that the last one? Why is collecting sooo hard!
  14. I'm guessing your too young to know what comics on the comic rack looked like back in those days.
  15. My first thought-If its a book you want, focus on the book. not the grade. Most 9.2's or higher look great. There are too many people in the "Hobby" who's real hobby is to make as much money as possible. The 9.8 grade in my opinion is just bragging rights. I know people won't like that comment but it is how I feel. My second thought-Why ask if you should buy the book. Its your decision. Are you willing to accept a loss if you buy now? You will have the book you always wanted, so who cares if it loses value?
  16. Someone gave me a coverless DD 103 when I was really young. I thought it was a Spiderman book for a long time since he was on the splash page. Its a book I remember fondly and it used to irk me that Overstreet wouldn't note Spiderman's appearance. Maybe it does now, I wouldn't know since I stopped buying Overstreet about 10 years ago.
