  1. If it were my money I wouldn't take the chance. But since its your money, I say do it!
  2. That's a nice copy. Looks to be about 9.4. Congrats!
  3. It's water damage. Maybe he pressed it out with an iron or something. P.S. Does it smell like Dr. Pepper?
  4. This is a little tough for me to grade. It's a nice looking book except for the edge wear. I would guess that it would grade around 6.5 mainly because of the aforementioned damage and the lower staple tears.
  5. Well, you could simply compare CGC graded books and grading notes with descriptions of grades from Overstreet to see the difference. If you want to use Heritage Auctions description of what a 7.0 CGC book will be then I'm not trying to stop you. I was just wondering, since you are posting a definition of 7.0 Fine which as you yourself admit, CGC doesn't have publicly defined.
  6. I just wanted to chime in and ask if that definition is from Overstreet, since Overstreet is different than CGC when it comes to grading books. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong though as Overstreet may have updated there old grading standards.
  7. I'm leaning towards 7.5 but I wouldn't be surprised if it graded 8.0-8.5 Never mind....
  8. I would estimate 5.0 but CGC has been kind on books lately, so It might grade 5.5 or even 6.0
  9. There were a couple scenes that I really liked that I feel James Gunn really pulled off well.
  10. I thought this was much better than the first film. I was kind of surprised that they went all out with the gore but kept the silliness of a silver age DC book. It was an odd combination. I would probably buy the Blu-ray when it is released. However, it still falls behind when compared to a Marvel film.
  11. I don't have a whole lot of CGC graded books. maybe about 40 books. Here are my top 10.
  12. Is that a finger smudge between his shoulder and the webbing? It looks 8.0 at best to me.
  13. I think there is a moderate amount wear around the staples and edges of the book. It look closer to 7.5 to me, but CGC has been pretty forgiving with their grading lately.
  14. I was just kidding. You can still tell all your friends that you have a FF #1. I'll never be able to say that.
  15. 4.0 I don't see how a press and clean would help.
  16. Nice pressing job! Still has a few flaws, so I concur with the others. 9.2
  17. Major defects would be pieces missing, color braking corner creases, tears and stains. Minor defects would be dirt, slight paper creasing, minor color breaks along the spine. I agree with the 4.0/4.5 range.
  18. That's great! I forgot that he did those early Shang Chi books!.
