Can I send in an order for re-holders and a bulk submission in the same box?  Separate paper work of course.  I am going to send in any 9.5's that I received from my first order and would like to do another bulk to get try out the new grading scale.

Yes, you can send the Bulk submission and the ReHolder submission in the same package. Just make sure that you include both packing slips.

@CGCRyan Want to know, if we submit a reholdering request after the promotional $5 offer (i.e. the $10 regular rate) - do all old CSG 9.5s still qualify to new CSG Gem-Mint 10s?  In other words, does the time limited offer affect cross-over rules?

Yes, all CSG Gem Mint 9.5s in the old green label will still cross to Gem Mint 10s in the new black label, the cost per card will just be the regular ReHolder fee of $10 per card.

I know all that. Can I please get a straight answer to my question? Are subs kept on file since they are said to use them to figure final grade? Wouldn’t they be able to just do a reholder and upgrade the grade to a perfect if subs on file warrant it? Is my only option to do a crossover to see if my pristine 10 (without subs) can be upgraded to a perfect?

This is the information I was given:

A customer who sends in their green label Pristine 10 is guaranteed a Gem Mint 10 in the new label. Pristine 10 green labels will be reviewed for a possible Perfect 10 black label.

Can I get an admin to confirm this? I want to send in a pristine 10 with no subs to see if it crosses. I would rather deal with the reholder fee and reholder TAT if possible, thanks.

For ReHolder service, Pristine 10 green labels will be reviewed for a possible Perfect 10 black label.

Here is the information on CSG's Crossover Service:

A card in a PSA, Beckett* or SGC holder is evaluated for CSG certification. The card will be removed from its holder and encapsulated by CSG only if CSG believes that the card will receive a CSG grade that is the same or higher than the grade assigned by the other grading service. If CSG believes the card does not meet its standards for the grade, it will be returned in its original holder and the full grading fee will still apply.

Cross at Any Grade: If you would like your PSA, Beckett* or SGC-holdered card certified by CSG even if CSG determines that it will receive a lower grade, specify CROSS AT ANY GRADE.

*CSG treats Beckett BCCG encapsulated cards as raw cards. BCCG cards will be removed from their holders and crossed at any grade.

You would use the Online Submission Form and choose Crossover.

Hi Ryan, can a purchased green label card (like from ebay) be sent in for reslab/relabel for the $5 cost? I am unsure if the $5 fee only applies to those that sent in their own cards they had graded. Thanks.

As long as you have an active CSG Associate membership or higher, you can send the cards in for the ReHolder Service. You would use the Online Submission Form, choose ReHolder Service and then enter in the card's certification # to add it to your submission.

@RyanCSG Yes, with hundreds of cards to maybe get reslabbed, getting clarity on this is really important. I have 2 important questions to add to this: (1) what does a 9 grade w/ two 9.5 subs equate to in the new grading scale? Does that become the new 9.5 Mint+? (2) does the 10% member discount apply to the $5 reslab fee? This could save $100 on 200 cards. Thanks.

@jyo1912 I will ask and see what I can find out for you and the other members on this board.

    Two quick questions

If I have a green label pristine 10 and reholder to new label would that become a Perfect 10 rather than a Gem Mint 10 on your new grading scale?

Card that are 9's and 8.5's do they automatically get same grade when reholdered or is there a chance they move up or down with the new grading scale?

    Thanks

A Pristine 10 will be a Gem Mint 10 in the new black label if sent in for the ReHolder Service.  Any green label card graded 9 or below, will be given the same grade in the black label if re-holdered.

@CGCRyan about the grading scale, can you please clarify how CSG cards will cross with the new system?

It's unclear to me what will get Mint+ 9.5. For example, would a Mint 9 with subgrades 9/9/9.5/10 bump to Mint+ 9.5? What about with subgrades 10/8.5/10/10? Or 9/8.5/9.5/9?

    Perfect 10 > Perfect 10
    Pristine 10 > Gem Mint 10
    Gem Mint 9.5 > Gem Mint 10
    ? ? ? > Mint+ 9.5
    Mint 9 > Mint 9

I confirmed with our graders: For the ReHolder Service, all green label CSG cards graded 9 or below will get the same grade when crossed to the new black label. Gem Mint 9.5s in the green label will cross to Gem Mint 10 in the new black label. Pristine 10s would also be Gem Mint 10 in the new label.

Payments for submissions delivered on March 15, 2022, or later will be due at the time the submission is received.

    Received

The submitted cards have been counted and entered in CSG’s computer system along with the submitter information, submission date and requested service(s).

In the next step, a detailed description of each card will be entered in CSG’s computer system (a process commonly called “verification”). The cards will be separated from any paperwork that would identify the submitter and the submission will be prepared for grading.
