For the venom one, 9.0 is the cap due to the right corner of the cover having a color breaking crease.
For the Spider-Man #1, that book is right around a 9.4 due to that bottom left corner. I just received my graded copy of it and this is close but not too far off from it.
Also, listen to grendelbo and please put 1 book per submission. Also get picks of the full front and back covers as well.

7.0. There is a corner bend on the bottom of the front cover that breaks color.

Golden Age is so hard to grade but if I had to throw a dart at the board, I would say 7.5 because of the foxing. However, I think it could go higher.

This is such a great book and cover but it's a real shame it's not in better condition.( But it's condition is pretty good )....to get it signed in my humble opinion you would want one that is in better condition. If your going to get it signed I would think you would want it to grade at a... 9.6 .....................now I don't know how much a press would raise the grade. Can it get to a 9.6 that would be my question.
I personally think this book would get an 8.5 with that back. Mine was only slightly better than this and it got a 9.0.

And came back a 6.0.
What were the graders notes? Curious about the back.

I think a 7.0 is possible if that press is perfect.

Does anyone have insight as to the origin of the big crinkel at the front cover top staple? And how it affects the grade of this book - with and without the crinkel?
It's interesting to me because it's a major trauma to the paper yet doesn't produce any perforations to the paper. The paper is solid there. Even more interesting because it looks flattened-out and continues under and all around the staples, yet is securely attached by the staples. Almost like the crinkel happened ...and then it was stapled.. Could this be?
Might this be something that happened while the book was being produced? If so, might GCG consider this a production defect and grade this defect leniently?
So again I am wondering what grade this book might get from GCG?
It could possibly be production related but I doubt it. I don’t know of any type of manufacturing defects like this.
Otherwise, this is honestly the best example I have ever seen of this book on the forums. For a square-bound book like this could easily fetch a 7.5 with a possible 8.5 as the ceiling.

7.0 This is one of those books where CGC may or may not give some wiggle room due its age.

From what I can see, this will not get a 5.0. More likely a 4.0-4.5. That top edge has a major crease along it (at least according to the camera) as well as severe staple stress.

5.0. I have one that came back 4.5 and this is slightly better than the one I got back.

9.2. The manufacturing defect shouldn’t affect the grade. However, that cover seems lighter* than normal. It could also just be the pictures.

9.4 imo. Nice comic
