  1. Speaking of comic art, it is hard to find anything that is truly great or groundbreaking or revolutionary. Most of it served it purpose. It wasn't for expression, or artistic ability, or to blaze a path for future artists. It was to tell a story and to make a buck. It was production art that was done on a timeline. It really isn't about the art itself in most instances. It is about the nostalgia. That view might seem like a cop-out but it is the truth. I think that is why people have a hard time slamming other people's pieces. I have some art that just looks horrible but it makes me smile every time I see it. Do I want others to slam it. No. Out of respect, we don't slam others' pieces.
  2. Some pieces will definitely reach in the millions. I can guarantee that.
  3. I almost wonder if this is truly how Kirkman wants things to pan out. He might have made some (admitted) mistakes but the comic was his sole creation (for the most part). I'm sure he there are many people he has to answer to and take input from in this series. Maybe that is why there is somewhat of a disconnect. I do feel the show is inferior to the book but I still watch it. I almost feel compelled to see how the two compare- even if watching it can be a joyless experience. I am sad now.
  4. I definitely agree. However, I thought they made some progress in character development in the last episode. By this time in the book, we had a lot of character development. It is funny because I think Shane's death wasn't so much about getting the bad guy as it was developing Rick and Carl. We got to see how they handled the situation. Rick seems clueless in the series. The comic was more interesting because Rick had to handle the truth about Lori and Shane from nearly the beginning. Still, I'm keeping my hopes up about the series. I have given it a lot more time than I have given any other series.
  5. Where? I wanna see! I'm not sure what thread it was in, but I know it was in the signature room awhile back. It's a cover swipe of DD 181. Rick is Daredevil, Governor is Bullseye, and Michonne is Elektra. Drawn of course by Tony Moore. Yahoo search is better than the search function in here, btw. This commission is sick. Just sick. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5116735
  6. yep So, dumb question, why did he use 2 different boards then? That was my next question. Seems strange.
  7. I thought I saw the prison in one of the trailers. This season will be longer so I hope they make it there before next year.
  8. In all seriousness though, I'm sure Shiverbones has been pretty busy during the Halloween season.
  9. If only Tony looked as good as my gf in a bikini, I might be tempted!
  10. When I read this, I knew it would be the one weekend I have booked already. Hawaiian vacation!
  11. I hope Tony comes out to the left coast soon. These sketches are epic.
  12. I respectfully disagree. Why wait all that time for downloading? AND have to use up space on your hard drive? I can go find a movie right now on a stream and be watching it in a couple of minutes versus waiting around for a torrent download. It's been my experience that movies can be found as torrents before they are streams. Sites like Demoniod and Fenopy usually have DVD rips online before the DVD's are released. So the selection is better. I've got Fios, so they download fast, and you can delete them after you watch it, so hard drive space isn't an issue. Viruses are an issue though.
  13. I was excited to read this. I will have to pick up a copy anyway. I forgot it was being released.
  14. I thought today's issue was really good. Lots of character stuff. The inside drama is what I find really engaging.
  15. Don't say that! Kirkman might hear you and knock her off next. He won't and that's why I am She seems very 355-ish without substance. I get it. She is tough and she is tortured. Let see some more from her. Maybe some more out of a lot of the characters too. I liked the beginning because there seemed to be a lot of character development. Now it is event driven. Maybe that is how comics start to suck. A lot of comics are good at the beginning and then people start running out of ideas. Now I am just tired and rambling. I still TWD though!
  16. I think they are both kinda cool. I like 91 because it has some emotion behind it and that's what TWD should be about. 92 is a good image and appeals to me more because it has action. I have to admit, I am not a Michonne fan (she's kinda boring actually) and her seeming invincibility removes the sense of danger. Overall, I like the image though. There have been some good covers lately.
